"Can I just hear a little?" Austyn pleaded.
"No, not yet." I scoffed playfully.
I had been listening to a mix of one of our new songs, and once she walked in I shut it off. Now she was trying to get me to hit play.
"Really," I nodded my head and she gasped, "not even a snippet? Fucking rude."
Austyn pulled a fake pout, and when I leaned forward to pull her to me, she reached around me in an attempt to hit the space button.
"No." I chuckled as I pulled her into my lap, putting a stop to her attempt.
"Damn it." She kicked her feet a little, making my laugh grow louder.
"No," Sebastian sighed, "you guys aren't allowed to fuck in here too."
I rolled my eyes, but smiled when I saw the red tint laying over Austyn's face.
"Hey guess what," I smiled at the way my older brother's eyebrows rose in confusion. Then, I pointed to the screen in front of me, "final mix of 'Hospital Beds' is in."
"No fucking way." He grinned wildly.
Sometimes I'll go awhile without seeing either of my brothers smile a genuine smile. One out of pure happiness. Sometimes they'll do the same with me. But you could always count on it, whenever the new music came back.
"Yeah," Austyn huffed, "and he won't let me hear it."
Sebastian leaned forward and initiated a fist bump, "There we go!"
"Hey," Austyn got off of my lap as she feigned offense, "I thought we were cool!"
"Cool does not equal family privileges." He clarified.
"Sorry my sweetness," I reached out for her hand but she pulled it away playfully, "for real?"
"Yes for real," She was trying so hard to portray anger, and it was probably the cutest thing I had ever seen, "jerk."
Sebastian let out a low whistle.
"Uh oh," Emerson smirked as he dragged his girlfriend into our basement behind him, "what'd you do now?"
"She's...mad- I'm supposed to think you're mad right," Austyn shoved me over the question and I finally let out another chuckle I had been holding in, "over the fact that I will not play her the final mix of our freshly finished song."
"Oh they won't let me hear them either." Shy spoke up.
"That's right. You don't get to hear our unreleased music until we're at least engaged," Emerson preached with a smirk. He then looked over to Austyn, and something clicked, "oh yeah! Austyn this is Shy, the love of my life. Shy, this is Austyn, Rem's friend."
"Best friend." I corrected, and raised my eyebrows up and down wildly.
"Only friend." She retorted.
"Not true!" Emerson defended me.
"Thank you baby brother." I beamed.
Austyn hugged Shy and mumbled into her ear, "Are they always this ridiculous?"
"I'm surprised you don't know by now!" The girls cracked up at Shy's words causing Emerson and I to send each other a small smile.
"Try living with them." Sebastian chimed in.
"Ok, goodbye!" I spoke loudly causing them to laugh again.
"Fine, I'll leave," Austyn's words made my heart drop but, the smile she let out brought it back up to my chest, "you guys want any coffee? I'm having withdrawals."
