Remington
"What," My jaw dropped in an attempt to feign offense, "what do you mean you haven't watched Harry Potter?"
Austyn shrugged her shoulders with a small smile, "I don't know, it just never interested me."
"You're crazy," I shook my head, portraying my comment as unserious with the wide smile on my face, "absolutely. Insane."
"Leave the poor girl alone." Emerson sighed as he descended the stairs and wandered into our living.
"See! Thank you," Austyn paused, and the smile in her face faltered a tad, "um, sorry, Emerson right?"
He took a seat next to her on the sofa and let out a small chuckle, "Yes. Remind me of your name again?"
"Austyn." She smiled brightly.
"Well Austyn," Emerson returned the action, "don't let my brother be an asswipe. He's really good at it."
I once again, dropped my jaw, as she let out a stifled laugh.
"Isn't he?"
I let out a puff of air, and got off of the couch. I started to stomp towards the kitchen but, she pulled me back by my wrist.
"Oh come on," Austyn let out another small giggle, and I rolled my eyes playfully, "I was kidding! Please don't cry."
"Or do cry," Emerson joked, "that would be kind of funny if you got successfully bullied by your kid brother and a girl you've just met."
Austyn held in a laugh, trying her best to take a deep breath and compose herself. I got up from the sofa for a second time, only to be pulled back again.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry," She said sincerely. When I sat back down, my eyes focused on her lips, that were pushed out in a pouty face. How could I possibly stay mad at someone who was as adorable as her, "please, forgive me?"
"I don't know," I sighed dramatically, and glanced the opposite direction. My eyes moved back to her when she let out a small groan, "ok, I'll forgive you. On one condition."
"Anything! You name it!" She smiled brightly.
"You have to watch one Harry Potter movie," I reasoned, "and I get to pick which one."
She inhaled sharply and Emerson let out a groan.
"God. Please, God no." He sighed dramatically.
"Fine." Austyn scoffed but, it was playful enough to reveal the humor behind it.
"Weaklings," My little brother muttered as I reached for the tv remote, "nothing but a couple of weaklings. The both of you."
He shook his head, and clicked his tongue in disappointment.
"Oh please don't let this alter you're first impression of me." Austyn feigned worry.
"Don't worry I understand," Emerson let out a short sigh on his way to the kitchen just to play along, "Remington has a way of getting what he wants."
I chuckled lightly. If only either one of us knew, that the one thing I truly wanted, more than anything else, was so far out of my reach. Austyn shrugged, and then relaxed into the couch. Her body pressed itself into my side as she made herself comfortable.
"So," The word left her lips softly and as more of a yawn, "what are we watching?"
"I don't know," A breathy chuckle left my lips when I looked into her almond-shaped eyes, and noticed their droopiness, "will you be watching anything? You seem pretty sleepy to me."
