A few weeks later, Celeste was discharged from the hospital and going back to classes. The class was preparing for their provisional license exams and she was nervous. She was still tired and healing from the battle before and nervous for the exam. Luckily, most nights she would sleep with Shinsou which took a turn for the better with both of their sleep schedules. Snipe had changed his half time teaching to full time unless for emergencies so he could be a proper guardian. Celeste would train with her mentor for hours in the morning and after school, then she would do her homework, sleep and do it all again the next day. Including her trips to the island in between homework and sleep, needless to say she was exhausted.
She had visited her uncle a few days after getting discharged and was welcomed with a banquet. Shinsou had been dragged along to be introduced as her boyfriend which had turned into another celebration entirely.
Celeste stood up and tapped her glass at the banquet with a silver spoon to make an announcement. She smiled at the purplette beside her and looked at her aunt and uncle.
"Thank you all for this feast, I know recent events haven't been much cause to celebrate so I am happy to take this time to be happy... especially since I have someone to share my happiness with now." She elbowed the boy beside her who stood up and took her hand.
Queen Layla gasped and squealed.
"We're dating." Celeste finished, to make it simple and to the point.
The king and her uncle stood up and walked towards the couple. He looked at Shinsou with a stern glare.
"I will not tell you to protect my niece, she is more than capable on her own..." he began and some members at the table chuckled. "But I need your word that you will help her follow her dreams no matter what, as a boyfriend and a friend."
Shinsou looked at the man and nodded confidently, holding his hand out. King Flores shook it and laughed as he pulled the boy for a hug. He grabbed a glass and held it up.
"To the new couple!"
"To the new couple!" The table cheered.
Celeste hugged her uncle and then her aunt who had started tearing up.
"Oh Auntie...what's wrong?"
"I just wish ...your parents were here to see this...they would have been so happy..." Queen Layla sniffed and Celeste took her hand.
"Crystal...would always tell me...that one day, a tall handsome prince was going to come sweep me off my feet and we'd live happily ever after...I know she would have loved him Auntie..." she said, a tear falling down her cheek. "Although-" she giggled."Hitoshi isn't much of a dancer, so maybe I'll be the one sweeping him off his feet."
Aunt and niece laughed remembering their loved ones until the feast was cleared and the ballroom doors opened.
"Wow...we haven't had a dance in forever!" Celeste cried, as she, the king and queen approached their thrones at the front.
"I had them prepare it just for you." King Flores said. "I knew after being in a hospital bed for so long you just needed a good ol serotonin boost to keep your mind going for that Sports Fest. Why don't you go sing a song? You always loved to do that."
"It's been so long though."
"As if you've ever been rusty."
Celeste laughed and sat at her throne and waved over Shinsou. He bowed and she giggled at his etiquette.
"You don't have to do that you know."
"Your in a literal throne."
"And? I'm still your girlfriend. Now help me choose a song." She said. Beckoning him to watch her scroll through her playlist.
"How about that one?"
"Really? Isn't that too literal?"
"It's fitting."
"Alright."
Celeste stood up and the room quieted as she beckoned for a microphone.
"Good evening, thank you everyone for coming tonight. Out of request, I am singing a sing today, so please enjoy."
She queued the music on her phone to play and took a deep breath.
"Say I'm cold hearted...But I'm just getting started...Got my eyes on the the target. Now, now..."
She smiled and opened one of her hands to reveal a small light orb that she sent up into the chandelier. It reflected rainbows around the room and Shinsou smiled at his girlfriend.
"Oooh, oooh, oooh!"
As rainbows hit people, the other attendees in the room changed appearances. Horns and wings that were hidden, sprouted and people cheers for their princess.
"'Till the battles won, 'Till kingdom come, Oooh, oooh, oooh...I'll never run. Best to give me your loyalty. 'Cause I'm taking the world you'll see. They'll be calling me, calling me...They'll be calling me royalty."
Celeste let the angel wings on her back lift her up into the air and flew to the top of the bannister above the ballroom.
"They say I'm dangerous, 'cause I Broke all the cages, No I, won't sit and take it. Now, now...They left me for dead, I guess they'll never learn. Every time I break there's just more pain to burn. They'll never, never, never learn Oooh, oooh, oooh..."
Shinsou stiffened a bit as he heard pain in her voice from those words and made a mental note to ask about it later.
"'Till the battles won. 'Till kingdom come. Oooh, oooh, oooh...I'll never run. Best to give me your loyalty. 'Cause I'm taking the world you'll see. They'll be calling me, calling me. They'll be calling me royalty, Best to give me your loyalty. 'Cause I'm taking the world you'll see. They'll be calling me, calling me...They'll be calling me royalty..."
The light show stopped and Celeste stood at the top of the bannister, taking deep breaths for air. The room clapped and people cheered. She beamed, happy and proud. It didn't last long as she and Shinsou returned to Heights Alliance and she trudged into her dorm room. She sat at her desk and took out a pen, writing and typing on the open laptop.
"Kitty it's 2am, go to sleep." Shinsou whined, wanting cuddles and warmth.
"No Toshi, I need to finish this essay up." Celeste replied with a tired, raspy voice. Shinsou eyed his girlfriend with a concerned yet loving gaze, she was in one of his shirts which were huge on her and her silver hair was messy, sprouting in all directions.
"Love, it's due in three days."
"Yes but we have more work assigned tomorrow so I should finish it now."
"Kittyyyyy." He whined again. Accepting the girl wasn't going to budge he rolled open her chair and picked her up, tossing her on the bed.
"Toshi!" She cried. "I'm not done!"
"Finish tomorrow, you need rest." He said, laying down on top of her. "I can't sleep without you Kitty."
"Ok fine. Only because I love you." She complied, holding him tightly.
"Thank All Might for that. Why don't we go on a date this weekend, to relax before the exams and go somewhere nice?"
Celeste smiled at him and nodded.
"Ok, let's do it."
