Within the coming week the hero course was notified they had to choose an internship with someone who had scouted them from the Sports Fest.
Celeste wouldn't lie, she was nervous to accept an internship, her stunt at the Festival had thrusted her into the spotlight in a negative manner. The last thing she wanted was to taint a good pro-heroes reputation by being their intern. She spoke with Principal Nezu, and they agreed to simply have her intern at the island with her uncle. It would allow her to learn about her quirk, and also not be concerned about public image.
Shinsou arranged something similar with their homeroom teacher as his mentor. They would find each other dozing off for some much needed rest during lunch or study sessions. Celeste would have to pop in and out after classes to train, spending hours away at a time. She would return exhausted and ready to either caffeinate or pass out. Shinsou was starting to worry about her when she looked pale one morning in class.
"Kitty, you should go to bed, I'll tell Aizawa, go rest."
"Nope! I'll be fine, I just need an energy drink." She said, popping open the metal can and taking a long sip.
"Girl- that's like your 6th one this week. When did you last sleep?" Mina asked her. Kirishima nodded, slowly dragging away the sugary drink.
"Friday."
"Last Friday?! It's been a week! Go back to the dorms and sleep!"
"Can't have class now and training after-"
Celeste felt her mind go numb as her words slurred in the sentence. The room started to spin and she reached for the desk in front of her to grab onto it. She heard people's voices echoing around her as she was hit with a wave of vertigo, exhaustion washing over her. Her eyes closed and blacked out, letting her body hit something with a thud.
A quiet tapping noise woke her up as she tried to run the sleepiness from her eyes. She stared at the glow and the dark stars on the ceiling and realized she was in her room. Sitting up she saw the tapping noise coming from Shinsou, who was at her desk doing work.
"Hitoshi? What happened?" Her groggy voice said, making the boy whip around.
"You're awake, finally!"
"Finally?"
"You've been out for over a day Kitty." The purplette explained, sitting at the foot of her bed. "You passed out from exhaustion."
The hybrid chewed the inside of her lip and wrung her tail in anxious habit. Her brows kneaded in concern when he told her she had been excused from classes and training for the next two days.
"Midterms are coming up, I need to make sure I'm at the top of my game. I can't miss things now, what if I fall behind-"
She paused when she saw the look that the boy was giving her. It was one of worry.
