Adeline was in the back seat staring out the window watching as the trees that flew by them morphed into open roads and eventually into California.

"Why are we in California?" Adeline asked.

"It's a part of a major road that travels along the west coast, major road equals humans. Lots and lots of humans which translates to possibly losing Bella's scent," Alice answered.

"Oh, so how much longer do you think until we get to Phoenix?"

"About an hour and a half," Jasper answered, "How are you holding up?"

"I feel like a really ugly craft project I made when I was a child. Everything's being held together with really bad glue, and everything is slowly coming undone," Adeline answered while using her hands to explain it.

"I'm sorry love," Jasper said.

"It's whatever, nothing we can do now,"

deline woke up in a bed. Jasper was laying next to her and Bella was pacing back and forth. "Where are we?" Adeline asked,

"Phoenix, darling," Jasper answered. Bella spoke to her mom on the phone, she was stressed anyone could see it.

"Hey mom, I'm not Forks anymore but I'm okay I'll explain later," Bella said before she hung up the phone.

"Bella, are you alright?" Adeline asked.

"No, I still feel terrible about what I said to my dad. I told him the same thing my mom said she left with me,"

"Bella! How could you do that, that was such a low blow. You didn't need to hurt Charlie like that!" Adeline exclaimed while hopping out of the bed.

"Edward said it was the only way he'd let me go."

"Edward said," Adeline said in a mocking voice before counting normally, "Edward said my ass. Bella, I'm sure independent but you've become so dependent on Edward, it's not healthy. If Jasper told me that I would've told him to go fuck himself and I'm not hurting my family like that," Bella turned around to look at her tears almost streaming down her face.

"Shut up! Just shut up! I realize that I hurt Charlie and I fucking regret it okay? There is that better?" Bella shouted at her. Jasper would have done something but he was stunned.

"The only thing that might make it better besides you living with that guilt is a phone call to him. He's probably worried sick!"

"Alice and I know how worried he is, he's been calling our house every day," Jasper said.

"I give up!" Bella said throwing her hands up in the air and rushing out of the room. She grabbed her phone that was sitting on the edge of the bed too. The door separating the beds and the rest of the hotel room was shut. Adeline drew in a shaky breath before she exhaled a sob. Jasper immediately held her and gently led her over to the bed. Jasper held her while she cried out everything, whispering soothing things to her as she cried.

A knock on the door was heard, "Yeah?" Jasper said.

"It's me," Alice's voice said, "Mind if I come in?" Jasper looked to Adeline for her answer.

"I don't care," Adeline said. Alice slid into the room and stood in front of the door frame. The blinds were shut and the room was dim.

"I heard your fight with Bella, I wanted to see if you were alright," Alice said, moving smoothly over to the right side of the bed and taking a seat.

Adeline laughed without humor. "I think everyone within a two-room radius heard us,"

"Where'd Bella go?" Jasper asked. Adeline just snuggled into his chest closer.

"I tried to make her stay but she just stormed out the door, but I didn't see her leaving the hotel in any of my visions but she should be fine,"

"Don't you have her number? You could try calling her," Jasper said.

"I'll call her in a minute," Alice answered.

"I dislike Bella," Adeline murmured.

"Me too," Jasper whispered in Adeline's ear. She managed to crack a small smile.

"What time is it?" Adeline asked.

"5:27 pm," Alice said.

"I don't think I remember the last time I ate anything," Adeline said pondering her statement.

"Let's get you some food darling," Jasper said.

"That'd be nice," Adeline said.

Adeline and Jasper returned from the restaurant Bella was back sitting with Alice.

"Carlise called, we're meeting him, Edward, and Emmett at the airport. Bella will go with them and hide for a while," Jasper nodded.

"When's their flight?" Jasper asked.

"Around 8:30ish tomorrow morning,"

"Okay, what about Adeline?" Alice looked at Adeline.

"You can either go with Bella, Emmett, Carlisle, and Edward and go wherever they're taking Bella or you can stay with us in Arizona," Alice offered.

"Any chance I can just go home?" Adeline asked.

"Not unless you want to risk getting killed," Alice said glumly.

"I don't care at this point. This is like a nightmare I can't escape," Alice nodded. Bella was in the room now. Adeline didn't want to speak to her after the fight or be in the same room as her.

"Hey, Alice?" Adeline asked.

"Yeah?" Alice said.

"Could you do me a favor and grab one or two of my books from my bag? I don't think I can talk to Bella right now,"

"Yeah I can do that," Alice said.

"Thank you,"

Adeline must have fallen asleep while laying on Jasper. They were on the couch when the phone rang at 6:23 am. Adeline groaned and Jasper answered the phone. Bella hurried out as soon as she heard the phone. Jasper and whoever else were talking quickly. He hung up.

"They're boarding now in Seattle," Jasper said. Adeline was more awake now.

"Can we go get some breakfast and coffee, I need coffee for this shitshow" Adeline said.

"Yes, darling we can go get coffee,"

Alice and Jasper were checking out of the hotel. Adeline was in the living room as she had been for the past 2 nights because she can't admit defeat. Bella got a call from someone, and she answered it. The walls separating the beds from the rest of the room were pretty thin and Adeline could hear the fear in her voice. "Don't hurt her!" Bella said in a panic. Adeline was curious but not curious enough. Not my business, this is her battle, Adeline thought. Bella came out of the bedroom, "What's your issue?" Adeline asked.

"Uh nothing, just-" Bella said. The door came open.

"Let's get going guys. The airport is close and they land soon," Alice said.

And with that, the four of them left the hotel and got to the airport.
