I've had the worst day, everyone including my best friend forgot about my birthday. I guess it's because it's so close to Christmas and everyone is trying to get gifts for their family.

I headed home because I was just done with today. I walked into the front door and saw Joe standing there with a gift in his hand. He walked up to me and kissed my temple.

He said "Happy birthday baby girl. I hope you like it." He placed the gift in front of me and I opened it. It was a silver necklace, I said "Oh joe it's beautiful thank you so much."

I kissed him and he kissed me back, he said "I love you honey." I said "I love you too joe." I hugged him and we stayed like that for a while. He said "let's go on a date tonight."

I said "I'd love that joe." He smiled and we cuddled for a while. After a while we headed out to the park for our date, we decided to take a walk.

We walked all around downtown Detroit, it was snowing and joe said "wanna go out to dinner?" I said "Sure, where do you want to go?" He suggested a Mexican restaurant, I said "yes I could go for some tacos right now."

He chuckled and we headed to the restaurant, we sat down at the table and he said "do you want anything to drink from the bar?" I said "no thanks I'm good."

He smiled at me and we ordered our drinks. He got a soda and I got water, he said "what happened at work today? You looked upset when you came home."

I said "Everyone forgot about my birthday,I guess because it's so close to Christmas and everything. Everyone has to get their stuff for their families and they don't worry about birthdays."

He looked at me and said "Aw baby, I'm sorry that they forgot about your birthday. The most important person though did not forget your birthday."

I smiled and said "thank you for not forgetting about my birthday Joe, your gift was beautiful." He smiled and said "you're welcome anything for my girl." I blushed and we ate our food.

After that we headed back home, I said "I'm so exhausted, can we cuddle?" He chuckled at my silliness and said "sure baby." I smiled and headed upstairs to change into my pajamas.

I changed into one of joes t-shirts and a comfy pair of shorts. I got into bed and joe put his arms around my waist, I laid my head on his chest he started to play with my hair.

I said "thank you for the best birthday ever Joe." He kissed my forehead and said "you're welcome sweetheart, I love you too much not to forget about your birthday."

He smiled at me and we ended up falling asleep in each other's arms. This was a birthday I'll never forget.
