Y/n and I played for the capitals. She was on the third line and I was on the fourth line. Her brother was Erik Gustafsson, he was very protective over her.

Sometimes y/n would snap at him because of how protective he is. Y/n and I were in the locker room, I noticed that she didn't have a smile on her face.

I walked up behind her and put my arms around her waist, I said "What's wrong baby? Where's that beautiful smile of yours?"

She said "Erik's being an Asshole, I told him that I was going to hang out with you later today and he told me that I couldn't." I felt so bad for her, Erik shouldn't treat her like a baby.

She's 28 not 5, I just wish I could do something about it. I kissed her head and said "Come on babe, we gotta go practice for the game tonight."

She smiled and we headed to the ice, she grabbed her stick and said "Cmon G! Your my partner." She grabbed my hand and I said "Woah, I feel like your trying to make me fall."

She chuckled and said "No silly, now come on we need to stretch in partners." She took her spot next to me and we stretched out all of our muscles.

We had scrimmages and y/n was on the team with her brother and Dowder. I was on the team with Ovechkin, Backstrom and Wilson, we versed each other and Erik laid a hit on me.

I said "dude what the hell!? I didn't even do anything." He said "you're dating my sister, I'm just protecting her from a broken heart." I said "dude I would never break her heart."

Erik rolled his eyes and we continued on with our scrimmage. No wonder y/n gets mad at him, she faced off against Eller and won,she also scored a goal.

After practice, I walked with Dowd and Oshie to the locker room. I said "guys wait, don't go in there yet. Y/ns arguing with Erik about something, let's not interfere with it."

We stayed outside the locker room and listened to their argument. Erik walked away and he was angry.

Y/n dropped to her knees and cried, I rushed in there and took her into my arms. I said "Baby, it's okay let it out." She cried in my arms for a while and I said "What happened sweetheart?"

She said "I-I don't know,Erik just came in and started to argue with me." I kept her in my arms and told her "I'll be here for you no matter what baby, but come on I'm taking you to lunch."

I grabbed her hand and her stuff and headed to the car. I put her stuff in the trunk, she said "Babe you don't have to do that for me." I said "I want to, you deserve to be taken care of properly."

She smiled and said "thank you g, I'm so glad that I have you." I smiled and kissed her head,I said "you're welcome love, come on let's go eat." She got into the passenger seat and we headed to a restaurant.

We got into the restaurant and took our seats, the waiter came around and took our orders. I don't think y/n was that hungry but I don't know, our food came and I started a conversation with her.

After we ate we headed back home so we could chill out before the game. When we were at home y/n took a nap, I got a text from my friend Nic Dowd. It said "hey are you two gonna be here soon?"

I said "yeah I just have to wake y/n up and she has to get ready." He said "okay bro, I'll see you soon love you." He said "I love you too dowder." He was like my brother, I headed upstairs to wake y/n up.

I opened up the bedroom door and y/n had already changed, i said "oh baby I was just coming up here to wake you up." She said "that's sweet baby but we need to leave soon right?"

I said "yeah let's go kick some ass!" She chuckled and we headed to the Arena. When we got there we were met with Erik, who didn't seem very happy with her.

He said "Y/n where have you been, I swear to god that I told you to stay with me last night!" She said "Garney,Can I talk to my brother alone please?" I nodded and headed inside the arena.

I looked through the windows and saw her arguing with him for the second time in two days, I felt so bad for her because she shouldn't be treated like this.

After the argument they both walked into the arena and y/n immediately stood next to me and put her arms around my neck. I said "Shh baby I got you, let it out it's okay."

She cried into my shoulder, we stayed like that for a few minutes and then I said "will kicking the jets asses make you feel better?" She nodded and we walked hand in hand to the locker room.

When we got there,she said "I'm gonna go talk to dowder, I love you." I said "I love you too baby." We kissed and she left to go talk to Dowd.

I was gonna talk to Erik after the game because he shouldn't treat her like a child. We took the ice for warm ups, y/n was normally quiet during the games unless she was mic'd up.

In this case she was, so she would do a lot of talking. During the game she was talking to Mantha, because they were on the same line. They were talking about how to get us on the board.

Her next shift started and she scored the go ahead goal for us, she skated down the bench and gave everyone a high five. I looked at Erik and it looked like he rolled his eyes at her.

I was pissed, that's his younger sister. He should be happy that she scored a goal for the team. When her shift was over she sat next to Mantha and Eller.

The first period ended she had a goal and Two assists. Erik came over to her and said "You think you're better than me?" She said "I don't see you trying, So yeah I think I am better than you."

I held in my laughter because of what y/n said to her older brother. She said "why are you always so protective over me!? I'm 28, I'm not a child anymore. So would you stop acting like I'm a kid because I'm tired of it."

He said "I'm just trying to be a good brother, I hate seeing you grow up. I didn't like the way you were treated as a kid, mom and dad should not have been allowed to act like that around you."

She said "I'm sorry Erik, but could you just be a little less protective please?" He said "of course kiddo." They hugged and we took the ice for the second period.

We ended up winning the game 7-0. Y/n scored two goals, the post game ceremony came and y/n ended up getting it. We left the arena and I said "you ready babe?" She said "yeah let's go I'm so tired."

I smiled and we headed back to the house, we pulled into the driveway and headed upstairs.
Y/n showered first and then I took mine. We got into bed and she laid her head on my chest.

I played with her hair, she slowly started to fall asleep. I kissed her forehead and said "goodnight baby, I love you." With that I fell asleep as well.
