Song to the side is the shizna! ;)
[Payton's POV]
Ben and I strolled through the empty streets, our hands tightly wrapped around our weapons, we'd already run into a few groups of half a dozen walkers, we were both covered in blood and mud from scraps on the ground.
'This is killing me.' I snarled. 'I can still feel it burning through my arm.'
The two of us had to sprint to water a few hours ago since a bad cut led to me getting sprayed all over in acidic walker blood.
Acid. As if it couldn't be any worse with those god damn monsters.
I managed to wash it all out, clean and dress the wound before the two of us set off again in the general west direction.
'I have no idea where we are...' Ben gulped. 'So you might be in that bandage for a while... Since Charlotte and Demi had most of the bandages in their bags.'
I gulped as I stared up at him. Ben was a considerable amount taller than me, when we were teens we pretty much stayed the same height as each other but when we were 14 he pulled ahead of me and is now a good 4 maybe 5 inches taller than me.
'Do you think they're safe?' I asked. 'Do you think they headed back without us thinking we're dead?'
'Maybe...' He smiled weakly. 'They might've gone back to tell the group to send out a big search party but they never will because there's so few of them left.'
'Do you think we should tell them about psycho town behind us?'
'No.' He gulped. 'The group will want to go to them and those people are terrible, the men and women have to follow god and I know for a fact there was an atheist in there.'
'How do you know?'
'I walked past his room and he was using a page from the bible to wipe his damn arse.'
'Wow. You sound like you had a lovely time there.' I giggled into my hand as he walked a little faster.
'We aren't all reincarnations of Jesus's siblings...'
'Sibling in law apparently.' I shrugged. 'But I am married to a sexy reincarnation.'
'What about Daryl? Are you cheating?' Ben mock gasped.
'Yeah, totally.'
We fell into silence again, walking up the long motorway staring ahead and jumping over cars, keeping our eyes open watching for close walkers.
'Wait...' Ben frowned. 'I know where we are...'
'How?'
He pointed ahead of us at a sign with SOS wrote in red paint. 'We saw that on the way here, do you remember? It was on our second day, just an hour after traveling.'
'So you're saying we're about 10 hours away from home.'
'If we walk the rest of the way yeah.' He nodded.
'Right... Let's get a car to the end of this damn motorway then, we can ride of the road on to the field there.' I pointed beside us where a a field was empty of cars and walkers. Try and find a car with it's keys in.'
'Perfect... If we drive the rest of the way we might reach home in... 2 hours... I would think the house is only 35 miles from here since we did walk really slow when travelling the other day.'
'I wouldn't think we can take the car all the way though... Maybe 10-15 miles, down this motorway, the car jam stops a little way up the road if my memory serves so we can get back onto the road and go for a while quite fast.'
