[Paytons POV]

'Well...' Daryl prompted. 'What did you use to do with your family every year for your birthday?'

'Umm...' I gulped. 'I don't really want to answer.'

'Ok. Well... Why don't you ask me a question? Get this whole conversation rolling.'

I nodded slowly but stared down at my thumbs as I twiddled around them around each other slowly.

'What did you move here from Texas? And why?' I muttered.

'Umm... I moved when I was 17. After I finished school and things, I moved because of ... Honestly... I moved because of a girl. I thought I had a future with her but obviously, I did not. But I stayed because I had a good job here anyway, when I was 19 my mum and brother moved in with me because they were having problems, money and my dad was trying to contact us again, we had a little problem with him several years ago, we haven't spoke to him since.' He blurted.

'Wow. I didn't expect you to tell me so much.' I whispered.

'I told you, were going to go quite personal then tommorow forget today even happened.'

I nodded slowly. 'I can handle that. So... Why didn't it work out with this girl?'

'Umm... Well she went to the same college as I did, but she lived here in Britain of course so she went home for holidays and stuff like that. I fell for her, hard. We started... Doing it...'

'Like you do.' I smirked.

He winked then continued. 'And Umm... College finished and we didn't talk for a while, so I decided to move over there, be spontanious thats what my mother always said, so I did, I moved into a flat just across town from where she lived, I visited her one day, the front door was open, so I stepped in, I didn't really think she'd mine, I heard her voice from upstairs so I went up, headed into her bedroom and she was... with... another man, turns out she got engaged just before she came to America with a man she'd been dating since the beginging of secondary school.'

I heard his silent growl and quickly placed my hand on his to calm him.

He looked down at my move then at my smiling face and began to smile himself.

'They broke up when I explained to him what me and her did and yeah... I got over her and focused more on work in my new flat until my mum and bro moved in then my priority was them.' He shrugged.

'What was your job?'

'I was a Columnist... Believe it or not... I had a regular spot on a newspaper where I wrote funny litlle headlines about something silly that made the news.'

I paused for second. 'Holy shit! Were you ''D Dandy?'''

He smirked. 'Yeah that was me.'

'Holy! I worshipped your work! I had some of my favourites clipped out and put in a book.'

'Stalker.' He snickered. 'And anyway, we're supposed to be talking about you... What made you want to be a primary school teacher?'

I blushed slightly. 'Umm... I loved kids growing up, I never really wanted to be a primary teacher at all. I always wanted to be an Author, writing stories to make people laugh, comedies and what not, I took great pleasure in writing, but Umm... I found out my work wasn't as good as I always wished, I sent many books in to be published but they were all rejected sadly.'

He smiled weakly. 'Sorry. So... Umm... What was your... grades like? At school.'

'Umm... Average, I passed my classes sure but I got C for everything.' I shrugged.
