[Payton's POV]

"Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Can you hear the clock as it goes, tick tick tick tick? Time is passing ever so slow. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Seconds, minutes, hours and days. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Time is passing slowly away."

My body was tight in a ball as I sang gently into my lap. Blood dripped off my nose and I could feel a lump off flesh (most likely) pressed against my leg.

Whats that sound? Can't you hear it?

It sounds like a bird. A dove? A pigeon?

Pigeons? Pigeons? Nasty things. They live in roofs and poo on everything. They've got long grey feathers and they must like England or something because they sure do spend a lot of time here.

I live in England. I've lived here all my life. Southern part. I'm southern and proud. I'll live here and I'll die here that's how it works.

I lift my head up and throw it backwards as I suddenly roar with laughter, I don't even know why. I'm so happy. I'm nice and warm, the blood is so hot, it's all over me too! All in my hair, all in my clothes.

It's going to be a bugger to wash out.

I'll just get mum to wash it, she used vanish or some shit. I don't know, I don't pay much attention.

'Mum?' I call into the area. 'Do you use Vanish?'

No reply comes.

'Mum?!'

No reply. Now I'm angry. I growl as I push myself up to my feet and ran my hands through my tangeled blood red hair. 'Fine! Don't answer me! Be that way! I won't be living here much longer anyway! I won't live in England forever. I won't die here. I might go to France or America. Oh no, I don't like France. They talk French there.

I'm not good at French.

I failed at it at GCSE.

Lola's good. She likes French, maybe she can teach me. I won't ask Rocky, she still doesn't know her left from her right.

'Oh well.' I smile, my feet keep catching on my dirty clothes on my bedroom floor. 'Yuck! I should clean this tomorrow.'

I walk towards my bedroom door but when I tried to push it open it wouldn't budge. I tried again, pressing my whole body onto it but it wouldn't move.

'For god sake!' I cursed. 'I'll have to get that fixed along with everything else.'

I turned away from the door and walked away. I walked to the very corner of the room because I heard something. A very quiet mummer.

'Hello?' I whispered. 'Who's there?'

A little fear showed on my face, I was such a scardy cat, afraid of my own shadow. I couldn't even handle spiders, I had to get Jay, my step dad, to get them out otherwise I'd sit as far away from it as possible until someone was able to do it.

I moved over to the corner and sat my ass down, I frowned when my bum felt wet and touched underneath where I was sitting.

My fingers came back and I stared at them when a lump caught in my throat. My fingers were red, the liquid was red.

Red like passion. Red like love. Red like Anger. Red like... Blood.

I was sitting on blood.

I pushed my body up and away from the blood staring down frantically. A loud gasp left my throat as I saw a dead body.

A small body, a child surely. Too small to be an adult, too small to be a teen. Yes, it was definitely a child, a young child too. The same age as Lola maybe, 8 years old, it's not Lola is it? The little brat loves to play tricks on me.
