[Payton's POV]

Daryl and I cleaned up the area of walkers pretty quickly, somehow all my feelings of exhaustion disappeared and I felt so...

Well, I don't know the word.

Maybe... Alive.

I just felt so alive, so much adrenaline rushing around my body all at once was sending my heart and brain into overtime.

'Payton?' Daryl called. 'You alright?'

I sat myself down in one of the cars, turning the steering wheel as Daryl pushed from the back, the car slowly rolled as I twisted, it turned a full 90 degrees after a few seconds and I jumped out smiling.

'Yeah, why wouldn't I be?'

'Umm... No reason.' He walked towards me and carefully took my arm as he lead me to the second car.

'What's with you?' I asked, awkwardly pulling my arm from his. 'Why are you leading me to the car?'

'Well... I thought you'd got bitten there for a second so I started worrying like the worry wart I am.' He laughed awkwardly, coughing in between breathes.

'If you say so.' I rolled my eyes, jumping into the second car, Daryl pushed hard from the back but the car refused to move. 'Push harder!!'

For two whole minutes, Daryl pushed as hard as he could and the car refused to move.

'Balls.' He grumbled as he walked around to my side and peered in. 'Payton?'

I looked up at him. 'Yeah?'

'You've still got the fucking handbrake on.'

I frowned as I looked to my side and... sure enough, the brake was on. 'Well... That explains why we're not moving.'

He growled as he reached over my body, my face against his neck as he sorted out the brake.

He lingered there for a few seconds afterwards as I tried to hold my breath and restrain myself from breathing in his delicious scent.

It's been a while since I smelt him.

I'm afraid if I'm reminded of that, my walls might crumble down and I'll be a spineless little girl who can't even break up with a guy she was dating for three weeks.

After a few more seconds, he pulled out and walked back to the back of the car then began pushing again as I began to breath again and get my head straight.

'Oh great.' I grumbled as my eyes began to flutter. 'The exhaustion came back.'

I twisted the steering wheel as Daryl pushed hard, the car went forward this time and a few moments the car was twisted at 90 degrees just like the other one.

'You alright?' Daryl asked as I stepped out, wobbling slightly.

'Yeah. I just feel... very tired all of a sudden.' I whispered. '... Why do you keep asking me?'

'I'm worried.' He mumbled.

'Well stop it.'

He rolled his eyes as Eugene started the car and rolled towards us. 'Am I not allowed to worry about you anymore?'

'No. You made your choice.' I growled. 'Just stop being difficult, I don't even want to talk to you.'

'What? Scared that you'll drop your walls and come running back to me again.'

'What?' I growled.

'What?' He nonchalantly looked to me.

I growled as Eugene stopped a few metres in front of us and went to my seat.
