Me Vs Zombies [Book 1 & 2]

[Book 2] Chapter 16

This is the new chapter but if any of you are confused why this is Chapter 16 it's because I joined the original Chapter 16 with Chapter 15 because they were both so short xx.

If you haven't read the chapter where Payton and Eugene talk about Charlotte's "condition" at the end, then go back to Chapter 15 and search about half way through till you find the ''---'' lines. Then READ ON MY PRECIOUS!! Then come back here and we'll all have a party ;)

[Payton's POV]

'I'm sorry... Could you just repeat that for me...' I snarled as I turned my body to face him. 'Really slow like and turn to face me so I can punch you if you said what I think you said.'

'Understand where I'm coming from first.' He snapped. 'You said yourself that you agreed with both Charlotte and myself-'

'I did not!! I said that-'

'I don't care!' He screamed. 'See my point here, Payton, that child will be brought up in a world of pain, death and torture, it would need to be able to care for itself if something happened, and it can't, it will cling to Charlotte, bringing her down. The child will suffer and that is cruelty to it, would you want your child growing up in this world?'

'I'm not pregnant though!'

'BUT IF YOU WERE!! YOU TELL ME HONESTLY!! Would you let your children grow up in this world? I'm the father, I would the love the child, I do love the child but I'm thinking about whats best for my children and what was best for my lover. Now, Charlotte can go to hell for I care, she's already made her choice that she would rather be without me... But I will not allow my child to be born because I do not want to watch my child die or suffer...'

The car fell into silence and I thought about what he had said for a few minutes.

'In... In return to your question... If I was pregnant... If that happened to me right now... I would never let the child be born, I would send my angel to heaven peacefully where I could soon join it, you're right about one thing Eugene, this world isn't for children... Because they need protection... But Charlotte is hard headed, she will never get rid of the child, she would rather die herself that watch that child die.'

'But she will.' He growled. 'If I failed to save the child, she would have to constantly have that third eye, watching for it's safety, just think about it, it's a baby! It will make noise that attracts walkers! It will require endless supplies! And time!!! We don't have time anymore, Payton, I don't see myself living to the end of the week anymore. I don't want my child to be eaten, to suffer and see this world. My intentions are pure, even if they seem immoral and wrong... I want my child to be safe.'

I turned to take a look at Luke in the back, he'd managed to twist his body slightly, his arms were also now folded over his chest but his face was scrunched up in pain.

'Eugene.' I cried. 'What about Luke? Should we save him? Or can we heal him?'

[Charlotte's POV]

My axe flew backwards and fore wards as Demi and I became surrounded by walkers.

'How did they all get in?' Demi snarled, firing her gun this way and that, walkers were dropping sure, but as one walker dropped three or four more emerged.

 'To hell if I know!' I snapped. 'We can't get through them, we'll have to turn back and lead them into a clearing.'

 'We can't! What if they're surrounding the house and they need help!'

'Well, we can't help them if we're dead, we'll try to lead as many of them as we can away!' I growled. 'A clearing will give us an advantage then we can run back once we put down the ones that follow us!! Come on!!'
