I rubbed my head slightly, sipping the coffee Nighty had prepared for us. He seemed cheerful today, so I tried to be happy too. Which was significantly harder than I expected.
Something was still nagging at my thoughts, not leaving me any rest. I weakly sighed and leaned against Reddie, deprived of the sleep that I needed.
He softly kissed my cheek, worried about me. "Maybe you need to tire yourself out, hunny.", he suggested. "How tho? It's not like I'm not trying...", I mumbled tiredly, sighing. "Maybe you can run around with Centi a bit in the evenings like Jura. Might help to exhaust you to the point where you fall asleep just like that. Nothing can go wrong with that, hun."
"Don't jinx it, Reddie."
"I'm not. Centi never runs away far, he stays close enough so we can see him."
"Ain't exactly hard at this place, not like there are any trees."
"Hero, could you stop being so pessimistic and just give it a shot? I'm just trying to give you ideas!", Reddie eventually exclaimed, upset. I softly sighed and sipped my coffee, snuggling up to him. "Sorry...", I mumbled. Red hummed quietly, acknowledging this. "It's alright, but don't repeat it."
"What if I do?", I joked to get his mood up. He sat up a bit, grabbed my collar and pulled me a bit closer so the others wouldn't hear. "If you do, I might have no other choice than to punish you.", he growled seductively into my ear. I went bright red and glanced at him, noticing he was serious. For some reason I couldn't say no, so I shyly nodded. Reddie giggled and kissed my cheek. "Good boy.", he hummed, softly flicking the bell on my collar. I bit my lip shyly as he let go and turned to Jub and Xander, who finally decided to crawl out of their tent an hour too late. "There you two finally are!", Nighty exclaimed, having Zeph on his lap. "I woke you up an hour ago and now your coffee is cold. What even were you doing in there?", he asked. Jub yawned tiredly, getting up to stretch. "Sleeping, then talking, then sleeping again.", he muttered. "And cuddling.", Xander added, rubbing over his face. "Can you judge us, this shit is stressful after all."
"It's stressful for all of us.", Jura chimed in. He was probably the longest awake with Nighty, already having packed up the empty tents.
Today we had probably the longest way to go. Nightmare was planning on arriving at the crack this evening, which was hard considering we were right on the edge of the Farlands and the crack was a couple of kilometers away from our camp. Which was also the reason Nighty had gotten his hands onto some coffee for all of us, we needed that energy badly.
But hey, at least Jay would soon have his husband again. Depends on how long this time before Notch attempts suicide again...
Talking about Notch, tonight there I had a... Weird dream within the few minutes of sleep I could force myself to have.
I didn't see him, but I heard his voice. He asked me to somehow get back to them into the void, he needed help desperately. Notch sounded... Worried, scared even. I don't know why, if it was because he was in danger, or because something else was going on.
Honestly, I didn't know what to do. Nor did I know if I had to knock myself out or something just so I could get to him.
I sighed weakly at that thought, watching Jura and Nighty put away the last tent. Maybe I should ask Nighty or Jub, they should know this stuff, right...? I mean, Nighty was in the void for multiple years after Notch threw him in there for his crimes, and Jubilea was a realm, those resided in the top layers of the void, right...? They should know about that. Jerry isn't here, so I couldn't ask her about this. And calling her wasn't an option, while we were here they kept their phones off and had left their home so the kids would be safe and sound.
Maybe I should ask those two. They can't say more than I don't know anyway, so that was my best guess.
Absentia wasn't here either, who knows where that guy was. He and Mitch disappeared roughly at the same time, and I don't know why. By now he should've been back already.
We finished our breakfast and got up, getting our stuff so we could leave. Minutes later we were on our way, walking along the caves to the crack.
But per usual, the peace didn't last long.
After roughly 2 hours a roar loud enough to silence a collapsing mountain broke our silence, and a strong lightning struck the ground in front of me.
Our group parted from the attempt on our lives and I turned around, growling. He would not hit me a second time!
Alon had followed up, but was still quite a bit behind, having attempted to kill me while Ben and Pietro weren't around. I could see his dirty smirk as he got ready to try again, but paused when a massive, dark shadow passed over our heads.
I looked up and went pale, my body freezing with fear. A dragon flew over our heads, making a turn a few meters ahead of us and going for our asses.
Nighty reacted immediately and shoved Jay and Jura to the side, who were in the way of the dragons path, narrowly avoiding getting hit by the left wing of the being himself. Adon simply disappeared when the dragon got too close to him, not exactly intending on getting crushed before he had Jay and me killed.
Nighty made us snap out of our shock by yelling at us to run away, which we did, following him. He lead us to a cave he thought was safe while somehow keeping a cool head, helping us get inside with Zeph being the last of the group before Nighty himself. As soon as Zeph was with us inside, Nighty hopped in too, almost getting hit by the  claw of the dragon. Due to that he hit the ground much harder than expected and would've fallen over if Jay didn't conveniently stand in the way and was able to keep him standing.
Out of breath, shaken up and full of questions we turned to the demon, expecting an answer. Nighty needed a small breather, he wasn't exactly used to running from a dragon in his state.
"What the hell was that all about??", Jura finally broke the silence once he caught his breath. Nighty stood up straight, letting out a nervous sigh. "That... Was Riota."
"Riota?", Hollow growled. He and Bellatrix had barely said anything and it was easy to forget about them since they were scouting out the area and ensured that everything was safe. Also it was incredibly rare that they slept with us.
Nighty bit his lower lip nervously at that tone. "My old dragon.", he admitted finally.
We were speechless, staring at him. Those were some... Awful news.
Hollow looked really pissed now and Bellatrix was disappointed, but they got interrupted by a loud roar.
Riota had found us, so we needed to leave, now.
Hollow threw Nighty a glare saying "This isn't over yet" before we made our way deeper into the cave.
