Lauren's POV
Park
March 19

"When was the last time Nika talked to you?" I asked Robyn.

"I haven't had a conversation with her in a month. The last time she messaged me was telling me that she was in Cuba."

"You got that text too?"

"Girl, she sent it to the group chat." I let out a small oh.

"She just randomly up and left. She dropped Zamora off at my house then she was gone the next day. Carol literally called me randomly on like the 2nd of March asking where Nicki was." I spoke whilst watching Zamora play. "The craziest part is that Onika asked me to give Zamora to BK the next day."

"I can't believe they're friends. She ain't even tell us." Robyn chuckled whilst eating some Lays.

"Knowing Nika, she definitely keeps BK at arms length. It's something to do with that man." I commented. Robyn and I never referred to Onika's boyfriend by his name because of his lack of respect for us. Even though we'd known his girlfriend since we were younger.

"That's what I was thinking. You know Nika, her first priority is being a mother and she literally left her daughter. So whatever trance she's under better come undone." Robyn spoke.

"You know BK is so much nicer than I expected? She has an RBF and she just has a strong demeanour." I randomly said.

"Why'd you say that?" She turned to me for a second before turning back to watch Zamora.

"I feel like she was genuinely concerned by Nika's disappearance too. When she came to pick up her godson, I asked her if she'd seen Onika or heard from her and she said no. Then she started asking about her and if she randomly disappears like that." I paused before saying the last part. "Then I heard her walking away on a call, asking someone if they'd seen her."

"I feel like maybe she was just asking since the kids always have play dates. She's probably used to Onika dropping Zamora off."

"No Rob, I mean I think she likes Onika." She glanced over at me with a smirk on her face. "Seriously. Like remember on the clubbing thing? Did you see how quick she was to defend Nika?"

"I see what you mean, but come on. You really think BK would be the type of person to settle? Didn't you see her last year, having a new woman on her hip every other day?"

"Yeah but people can change." I shrugged. I was evidently the more optimistic in our trio. Robyn was a realistic person and Onika became an optimistic person after the birth of her daughter, she just had an attitude.

"Do you know how many times I've looked out to the front of the preschool and seen them talking? I feel like BK flirts with Nika but Nika is too blindly in love with froggy to notice."

"I still don't like him, I don't care." Robyn started. I knew where this was going but I listened anyway. "When he showed his true colours that time on her birthday? I will never forget."

She was talking about a time back about a few years ago. It was Onika's 19th birthday and she threw a small get together at her favourite restaurant with her friends.

She was opening her gifts at the table and Robyn and I were obviously filming because she's our best friend. She got really excited over a Chanel bag, that I'd spent a fortune on, but I knew she wanted it.

He wasted no time making it about himself.

"Lauren Nicole London, you did not." Onika finished opening the wrapping and held the purse to her chest. She started squealing and I failed to hold back my excitement with her. "Thank you, I love you so much."
