Onika's POV
Home
July 27I was dying.
I wasn't but it felt like it. I was on my period and I was sick. So every time I coughed or sneezed, I felt a clot fall out of me.
Beyoncé took Zamora with her to get her nails done, like she did every two weeks
Kelly came over to look after me. We were best friends for real.
I also enjoyed hanging out with Beyoncé's sister, Solange. We were close in age. Only separated by a year.
Kelly plopped down on my bed next to me, with a glass of wine.
"I'm so happy that I'm finally off work. I turned off my work phone and I turned in my work laptop. What's going on with you, besides the illness?"
"Literally nothing. I'm starting my gym membership next week because I desperately need to snap back to my old body." I explained, my voice was hoarse.
I was speaking to her with my eyes closed because it was way too bright.
"I'm so happy for you, honestly. Aside from being a friend, you're like a little sister to me, so I get proud of you."
"I'm in love with you." I sighed.
"Shut up, I was trying to make a cute sentiment." She bursted out laugh once I started cackling.
"I won't apologise for how I feel, Kels." I calmed down from laughing.
We sat and talked for what felt like forever. Surprisingly, I didn't fall asleep. We talked about my cooking and what I was planning on doing.
Soon Destiny showed up at my house to come see me. Every time I saw her, she called me her best friend.
"Where's Solange?" I asked her when she sat at the end of my bed.
"She's studying for a medicine exam." Destiny explained. "She's about to start working in a hospital. Then she'll be an intern in a few years."
"Did you bring the snacks, Des?" Kelly asked.
"Yes, I did. Hold on." She left the room for a minute. She returned to with a plastic bag of snacks.
"Are those pickles?" I gasped as she went through the bag. "I love you, Destiny."
"Everyone does." She cheesed and handed me the jar. She then handed Kelly some skittles. "Are you dating my sister?"
I looked up from my pickles and almost spat them out. Both Kelly and I burst out laughing. It wasn't actually that funny but we still laughed.
"No. Why'd you say that?" I munched on a pickle.
"Well I-" She stopped talking. "Never mind. It's just a thought."
"Ok, Des." I chuckled and continued to eat my pickles.
Kelly and Destiny started arguing. They were definitely siblings. They argued for 5 minutes straight, over literally nothing.
We all turned our attention to my phone when it rang. It was just Beyoncé so I picked it up and put it on loud speaker.
"What's up?"
"Open the door, please." Zamora's voice came through the phone.
"Ok, baby. Bye."
"Bye, mommy."
I signalled over to Destiny and she sighed whilst going to open my front door. She came back up, holding Zamora on her back.
Soon after, Beyoncé came through my bedroom door. I tried to hide my smile when she came through the door.
"What is she doing here?" She pointed towards Destiny. Destiny scoffed and Beyoncé smirked.
"Because this is my best friends house?" Destiny sassed.
"Go home? Does mama know you're here?"
"You're such a hater, Bey. Leave her alone." I defended Destiny.
"Thank you, bestie."
Zamora came and sat directly next to me on my bed. She was in her outside clothes which she knew was bad.
"Zamora Grace." I warned.
She looked at me with puppy dog eyes and I gave in. She was lucky I was going to have to wash my bedding anyway.
Beyoncé stayed for half an hour before leaving. Soon after, Destiny headed to her boyfriend's house. So it was just Kelly, Zamora and I.
"Tell us about your day, baby." I rubbed her back. She laid herself on top of me.
"BeyBey took me to the park. Then we went to her house." She spoke, then paused to cough. "There was someone at her house. She hugged BeyBey and we went inside."
Kelly sat up, being interested. "What else?"
"It was the lady from the store. I don't know her name, I think it's Lani. That's what BeyBey called her." She explained.
"What does she look like again?" Kelly asked sweetly. I slickly looked over at her and noticed the entertained look on her face.
"She's the same colour as mommy. Her hair was black and she's shorter than BeyBey." She listed off everything she could remember. "She said I was cute."
"You're very cute." I pecked her forehead, then wiped it off myself.
"Thank you." She giggled. "Guess what else?"
"Oh you love to gossip, lil girl." Kelly reached over and tickled her. She was laughing so hard whilst still being in top of me, so she elbowed me at least 3 times.
"I'm too tired for this." I shut my eyes.
"The lady kissed BeyBey." My eyes immediately opened.
"Did BeyBey kiss back?"
"I don't know, I was playing in her wallet. I think she did but I didn't see anything." She shrugged.
"Why were you playing in her wallet?" I asked.
"She keeps candy in her wallet." She murmured. "She has fruit roll ups and skittles."
"How big is this wallet?"
"Like this big." She demonstrated with her hands.
"Next time you go in her wallet, take her card." Kelly advised. "Or whatever money she keeps in there."
"Do not do that, Zamora. Don't listen to her." I pointed at Kelly and back at Zamora.
"How many more times have you seen the lady, Z?" Kelly pried.
"I saw her at the store, at the theme park, at the store again and at BeyBey's house." She listed off.
"Leave my daughter alone, Kelly." I hugged my baby. She hugged me back and my heart fluttered.
"I'm done with my questioning." She surrendered.
She stayed for another hour before going home to look after her family. I used all my strength to get up from my bed and get Zamora ready for bed.
At a random part of the evening, Beyoncé came back over. This time she had food with her. She bought some for Zamora and I to eat.
I had chicken soup and Zamora had nuggets. When we'd been fed, I kicked her out.
If she had a girlfriend, I didn't want her here. I didn't want mixed signals, so I didn't want her here at all. If she wanted to sleep, she'd have to sleep with her girl.
