Beyoncé's POV
Knowles Household
December 2"Ma, Bey keeps messing with my stuff!" Destiny yelled down the hall as I ran from her room.
I ran as fast as I could without her hitting me and acted normal when I entered the kitchen. Mama was making dinner for her kids.
I'd finally flown back to Houston after some time in New York. Houston would always be my real home, this was where my houses literally were.
"Beyoncé!" Mama exclaimed as she noticed I was back home. She left the stove and came over to hug me. "You're finally home."
"I missed you so much, mama." I hugged her back, kissing her cheek.
"What did I tell you about not visiting?" She pointed a wooden spoon in my face and I cowered in her gaze.
"Sorry, Ma. But I'm home now." I grinned.
Whilst we caught up, Destiny came back in the kitchen and slapped the back of my head. I immediately went to lung at her but she'd hidden behind mama.
Smart move.
I mouthed 'I'll get your ass good' and she took it as an empty threat. She'll see.
"Giselle, I'm being serious this time. I don't want you out in New York being a gangster. You deserve to live a long precious life and I don't want to see you become another statistic." My mama stressed as she mixed up some gumbo. I nodded whilst munching on some grapes I found.
She always gave me this speech about being safe and stopping whilst I could, but she didn't understand. Which was weird considering her husband was the reason I joined in the first place. My dad was stuck in the drug world before his passing, which meant I would be dragged into it too.
I don't know why it mattered so much to her anyway, I wasn't the one doing the drugs. I was just the dealer. The best dealer in the states, if I do say so myself.
"Ok, mama. I hear you." I tried to sound as attentive as possible.
Once we got off of that topic, we started talking about the family plan for Christmas. My mama said she wanted to go to Canada for Christmas. So whilst she explained the details, I got one of my people to start organising it.
My mama deserved the world for all she'd been through. I had her specifically move into this house because of the safety and security. I knew she was safe because I was ok with leaving the state whilst she stayed here. As well as her, my siblings were here, so security was very tight.
"One of my guys is organising a cool little penthouse in Toronto for us, Ma." I explained whilst texting. "What else do you want before I stop texting him?"
"Ooh, is there a pool?" Destiny asked whilst stealing some grapes from my bowl. I nodded and snatched my grapes from her.
"You want hyperthermia or something?" I asked with my mouth full of grapes.
"Shut up." She scrunched her face at me.
"How close is it from the local grocer?" My mama asked.
"There'll be a personal chef to cook whatever you need mama. No need for a grocer."
"What would I do without you?" She joked.
"Nothing." I walked by her and kissed her cheek again before going to my room. Of course I had a room at this house too, I needed one for whenever I visited my family.
When I got up to my room, I plopped down on my bed and scrolled on my phone. I rarely used my main phone.
I truly believed in living in the moment.
