Beyoncé's POV
EDA
April 21"She shouldn't be dancing, she literally just got out of her boot." Onika sighed.
"Zamora was doing dance with that boot on. She'll be fine." I reassured Onika as we sat in the crowd. "Plus she pinky swore that she'd tell her teacher if her foot started hurting during the recital."
"She's just as stubborn as me."
"Her excuse is being 5, what's yours?"
"You think you got jokes, huh?" She poked her inner cheek with her tongue.
"You think I'm funny."
She put her attention back on her phone. Not even doing anything but scrolling on Instagram.
"Good evening, parents and guardians." One of the dance teachers introduced the show. "Thank you all for coming tonight. I hope you guys brought snacks."
Onika turned her phone off and pulled out a camera. She told me about how she loved to record things with Robyn and Lauren.
"Now entering the stage is our mini team." She started applauding which caused everyone in the audience to clap.
A dozen children between the age of 5 and 8 ran onto the stage. They all got into a pose in their costumes.
It took me a second to find Zamora since they all looked the same. She was in the front towards the right.
Onika styled her hair so good. Even though it was the same style as the other kids, it was still cute.
"See." I pointed towards Zamora. "She looks perfectly fine."
She waved me off because she was focusing on recording. I turned my attention back to the stage.
The performance was very long and I managed to watch the whole thing.
Onika filmed the whole thing and turned the camera to me a few times. I was getting dejavú from the whole camera thing.
I stopped recording my life when Gianna died because that was her thing that she did. Sometimes I watched back the footage.
There wasn't a particular reason why I did it. I just did. Same thing with my dad. I'd just watch old videos with my dad.
"Bey, it's time to go." Onika tapped my shoulder.
She was already stood up with her shades on. I followed after her and we went to the main lobby where all the kids come out.
Zamora came out with her two dance friends. They all hugged each other and she jogged over to Onika and I.
"Hi, BeyBey." She hugged me after she hugged her mom. Then I picked her up.
"Hey, Princess." I kissed her cheek. "You did such a great job. Is your foot ok?"
"It hurt a little bit at the end but I was ok."
"Well you're going to have to dance a lot less, if you want your ankle to be at its best." Onika spoke up, opening the entrance door for us to leave.
"Do I have to?" Her shoulders dropped and laid her head on my shoulder.
"Yes, baby. That's the only way you'll be better. When you're finished healing, then you can dance for however long you want."
"Mama, do something." Zamora looked to me to try convince Onika otherwise.
"So now I'm mama again? I can't do anything about this one." I shrugged. "Your mommy won't listen to me about your foot."
