Josie's P.O.V

It was late in the Salvatore school. The party had yet to die down as the music could still be heard from the old Mill. But despite the fun and excitement coming from the woods, here in the dorm room was nothing of the sort. Especially for Hope. I mean this was someone who has encountered a lot of imaginable terror, was now sitting on the bed holding Andrea tightly as her eyes focused on the door just waiting for something else to emerge from it.

At the moment the dorm was filled with anxiety and murderous rage from everyone who stood in the small space. Freya, Rebekah both pacing back and forth still trying to wrap their heads on everything we had told them about the girls. And lizzie, sitting by the desk with Kayley eating, but my sister couldn't seem to get one bite of pizza into her mouth. Yet somehow chewing her nails was an easy thing to do.

Just a single provocation, no matter how slight, would be enough to trigger a bloodbath.

I stayed watching the rain begin to slowly pour outside from the window. It started off slow and gentle then quickly almost in a matter of a second the down pour came mixed with the roars of thunder as the lightning brighten up the dark sky. The sound was nice to wash away the quietness that was driving me crazy.

But it didn't last long. My train of thought was cut off by a small weight on my leg trying to climb its way up onto my lap. Kayley had realized she was far too small for such a task finally gave in and raised her arm for me the second I turned to her. It made me laugh for a moment, taking her into my arms.

This night was suppose to be perfect. With hope and I finally being together, finally accepting that this, with these girls was our new reality, our new normal somehow began to fall apart.

I always had it in the back of my mind, thinking about such a day when the girls would have to leave. If I would be ready to give them back and watch them go off to their real home... life, but tonight confirmed just how ready I was.

I wasn't it.

Whoever that guy ken was came and tried to take our girls from us.

Although his approach was a gentle one, it didn't stop him from showing us just how powerful he really was. I had to thank lizzie for stepping in when she did, preventing such fight to take place and letting us keep the girls safe. But it only seemed to be delaying the inevitable. And what made it worse was the time limit he gave us.

One week.

We had one week with the girls before he came back and took them. And both hope and I, as quiet as we were, both thought the same thing. No matter how much Kayley was against it, I knew-- and Hope knew with all our theological training, certainly knew-- that they were from the future just like the girls and would do anything to take them back with them. They belonged over there, not here.

"So can we assume all of us are dead in the future"

Lizzie was the first to speak since the unfortunate event took place half an hour ago. Everyone of us turn to her, freya and Rebekah finally stopped pacing.

"I mean, Kayley did say we were gone." lizzie softly spoke giving a small shrug. She had a point. "And if they are here to take them back... I mean in the letter it does say when it's safe they will get the girls back. What if it is safe, what if they were in charge of retrieving them. What if something bad happed and we end up dying. They are the only ones left to take the girls back"

"So Kayley and Andi needs to go after all, huh...?" Hope sadly raised her voice.

"Not necessarily" Freya suddenly veer over to her side, wrapping an arm around her. "Just because he came in like a gentlemen doesn't mean his intention are pure. After all he did want to kill you." freya reminded us.
