Hope's P.O.V

I woke up, gasping trying to get enough air back into my lungs. My hands quickly moved to my chest not feeling the arrows that pierced though me and took me out. I was alive now, and knew what was happening next.

Everything hurt. From my head, to my body, even my jaw. I felt my senses going out of control hearing things much louder than ever before. Not to mention this dry inch in my throat. Is that what Josie felt when she was in transition.

Josie... Kayley!

In a panic I moved around looking at every direction. Sitting on the ground, with my back pressed against a tree, everything seemed despite all things considered, normal. But someone wasn't next to me.

"Kay--" I heard movement in front of me like gravel moving around making me stop mid shout.

The river was still moving harshly down stream, and there were a few big rocks around the ends of the waters. The moon still casted up in the night sky shining down on me like a spot light and the riverbank.

"Ka- kayley" I tried to call out to her keeping my voice soft and gentle, as I could.

I saw a small hand on the side of the rock retreat back to its hiding spot.

"I-I im not going to hurt you." I tell her as calmly as I could. But I can't seem to stop that feeling of craving blood. I hear kayley's shallow breaths, hear her rapid heart beat and the blood running through her veins. I hear it all and it just makes me crave it even more.

It wasn't until I looked down a little to my right when I finally figured out why the smell of blood was so strong. It was a frightening sight to see for most people. 2 bunny rabbits in a cage made out of twigs and branches. They were looking for a way out trying to move the cage to get out from underneath, but a nice big rock was on top of it holding it in place. Try as they might the rock was heavy enough to keep the cage steady, but then again these were tiny creatures. And these tiny creatures smelled of blood.

One bunny with light grey fur was sitting still while the other more brown one was moving around. The grey bunny's leg was bleeding. Must of gotten hurt when it was caught.

"A-aunt bex said v-vampires n-need blood" kayley stuttered. Her voice alone told me everything I needed to know. She was hiding because she was scared. She knew the information on vampires needing blood to survive. Did she know they needed human blood to finish transitioning also. No, judging from the rabbits she thinks any blood would do. We must of fed on animal blood for her to even consider this possibility.

"D-did you catch them?" I asked, looking back at the bunnies. Kayley didn't say anything, but a light hum did fill my ears with an answer. "Kayley, you don't need to hide. Everything is okay?" I told her, getting on my knees. I didn't want to approach her. Didn't want her to be more scared then she already was.

Peaking her head from behind the rock, kayley still didn't move away from it. She saw me, then looked to the cage beside me.

"Okay... how about this" I sat back down. Kayley moved out of hiding, but kept close to her rock. She leaned on it ready to hide behind it once more if anything were to happen. She was shaking, her clothes still dripping with water, her hair wet. I removed my thin jacket slowly before tossing to her.

She was wearing shorts and a short sleeve with her slip on shoes, and although the summer night was nice and warm, I could see just how cold she was. Even with the lack of light I could see a few cuts and bruises, dirty on her face and clothes.
