"I see, I see! I understand. How interesting. How very interesting. Now what did your leg being stuck in the wall have anything to do with you giving me my hotdog" Lizzie said, waiting for her food to be handed to her why Josie watched kayleyes hand by the outdoor wash area.

I thought once kayley got to the petting zoo it would be hard to get her out. But Josie proved once again that she, even without her humanity could make the girls listen. I mean, kayley was determined to pet every single animal that was in the barn house, which she did as well as gave us a fun fact about each animal.

She was just like Josie. Very smart and very caring. I almost missed it, if I wasn't keeping an eye on her. A baby lamb had hurt its leg somehow and wasn't moving around as much. Kayley cautiously walked up to it and when the lamb approached her it was limping. Kayley looked around before placing the lamb back on the ground and placed her hand on its leg. I heard the muttering of a healing spell.

Then when she was done, the lamb got back up and walked around like it wasn't just injured. Kayley laughed and smile as the lamb tried to play with her. And that's when I learned that it wasn't a lamb but a baby goat since it started to head but her. Kayley didn't mind as she started to do the same.

I also learned that kids were built different. How could a child have a head butt match with a baby goat. I mean true the goat didn't have its horns yet, but still wouldn't the skull be harder. But then again kayley was part wolf, she was stronger then literal adults so. If I had to put money, I know my kid would win.

But after that, it was simple head pats to the other animals until she checked off every one off the list. And yes she had a list. The animal keepers were handing out pamphlets, that you can color and check off when you saw the animals. It also had cool games and puzzle both lizzie and I were trying hard to figure out.

It was a contest after all. Lizzie and I verses Kayley and Josie, but those two obviously ended up winning. That's when Josie decided she had enough of the animals and wanted to leave.

I had to admit, Josie was doing really well controlling herself. Especially around both animals and humans. I could tell she didn't like it. She was holding back and it was hurting her, but having her carry Andi really did helped. Josie looked, calmer and maybe just a little bit more happier. Being around both girls it was like she had forgotten she was a vampire, and I could see her slipping, the switch to her humanity almost one more push ready to turn back on. But thats when she would catch herself.

And there was nothing I could do to make her feel better.

Before we got into the car after we had finished taking out Alaric, finch and Landon, Josie confided in me. She told me she was scared that she wouldn't be able to forgive herself for the unfortunate turn of events. Even if she wasn't the one killing her dad, she would still feel guilty because it was to protect our daughters that it had to be done in the first place.

Thats why she turned off her humanity. In order to not feel the guilt of choosing someone she hasn't even given birth to yet rather than her own father. And once that switch was flipped she didn't care anymore and wanted to be the one to kill them. Wanted that action, that fun.  She wanted to take her vampire abilities for a test drive. She couldn't feel any remorse so she didn't care.

But I did. I thought of Alaric as a second father. But once I heard those words leave his mouth, calling my children names and threatening them...  I knew it would hurt but I would get over it. I knew if Josie and I were to have our family nothing like how the future was would happen. That was what my future self told me. I wanted Josie forever, I wanted my life with her. Us, a family with our girls, and if I had to get rid of Alaric before it all happen in order to get that happy ending then I wouldn't mind being the one to make the hard decisions.
