"Beware the Oppressor", warned them one of the creatures ignoring her question.
"He's very oppressive."
"What makes the unseen seen - got it?"
"Don't forget that."
"Don't forget that!"
"Yeah!"
"We got it now, okay? Dont have to repeat yourself a thousand times", snapped Melody having had enough of the empty threats and their constant repeating. "And now shooo. We've got this."
Melody grabbed Lucy's hand before they stepped into the house of the Oppressor.
What would an adventure be without a bit of danger and thrill?
Melody embroided this in her mind.
She wanted to go on an adventure. There she had it.
------
When the sun arose and the speckles of light started to wake up the crew everything seemed to be at peace.
Until Matthew sprung up, having just woken up from a deep slomber to the sight of no Melody. He looked around frantically trying to spot her, to no avail.
At the same time Caspian spotted the large footprints and shook Edmund awake.
"Ed, wake up. Look."
Said boy stood up rather fastly and looked at the footprints. His thoughts drifted to Lucy and when he couldn't see her his face morphed to one in fear.
"Where's Lucy?"
"Wake up! Melody's missing!", shouted Matthew just shortly after Edmund asked Caspian about his sister.
"Everybody up", said Caspian commanding and followed Edmund into the woods.
"Get up. Get up, I said. Look lively. Move, you blaggards", shouted Drinian at his crew.
"This way", exclaimed Caspian following the footprints.
Meanwhile Lucy and Melody stepped further into the mansion. The long eery hallway creeped both girls out but when they entered the gigantic library both girls couldn't help but be in complete awe. They noticed a pult in the middle of the room, on top of it a big ancient looking book.
Lucy tried to open it but it wouldn't budge making her notice the letters that were sprawled across the leather cover. She looked a bit over the book seeing an engraving on the pult. It was an angel that indicated a blow of wind.
Melody spotted it as well and motioned to the book seeing as it could be connected.
Lucy blew across the cover emmitting a cloud of dust. But the dust quickly faded away making them notice how the letters seemed to move in a certain order. Words started to form until they could see the name of the book.
The Book of Incantations
She tried to open the book and this time it did budge and revealed the first pages covered in history stories and pictures before a series of spells were seen. One on each side. Lucy looked through it with glowing eyes and a slight giggle when she spotted the weirdest spell combinations.
Melody looked over her shoulder and had to smile as well. Her hand stopped on a page.
"Spell for snow."
"With these words your tongue must sew for all around there must be snow", spoke Lucy, reading the spell out loud and wondering if she could really attempt magic with it. She took a look at the right side of the open page where the blank space was slowly filled with melting snowflakes.
