"What did you mean when you said it was for their own protection?", questioned Lucy while walking next to Coriakin.

"It seemed the easiest way to protect them from the evil."

That made the other four listen up.

"You mean the mist?", asked Caspian.

"I mean what lies behind the mist", answered Coriakin stepping to the side so the others could enter his huge library.

---

The moment they stepped into the huge library an awestruck look made its way onto the faces of them, minus Lucy and Melody who had already seen the galaxy like ceiling and the seemingly never ending rows of books.

Coriakin suddenly had an old looking paper role in his hands. He rolled it out with a wide arm motion making Eustace stumble back as the long paper that revealed a map of Narnia in a dimensional view floated in the air. Dust swirled through the air and the long rusty paper hardened itself becomig a table with a realistic looking landscape of narnia, leaving everyone stunned at the simple display of magic.

"That's quite beautiful", whispered Eustace not realizing he said the words out loud, immediatly regretting them in the presence of the kings. He didn't want it to seem like he would enjoy his time in Narnia even though he slowly began to appreciate it's extraordinary nature and the specks of magic. He quickly corrected himself when he noticed the amused looks of Edmund and Caspian and the wide grin of Matthew that was quite similar to the soft wide smile Melody sported on her lips. "I mean, for a make-believe map of a make-believe world."

"There is your source of trouble", spoke Coriakin, catching the attention of all of them while the map zoomed itself on an island. "The dark island. A place where evil lurks. It can take any form. it will..."

Melody had listened attentive to Coriakins knowing words but a shimmer at her left side caused her to look away. She focused her gaze on a book that rumbled in its place at the far end of the room but she caught the slight movement, alarming her. Knowing it had to mean something she snuck away from the conversation they held about the Dark Island and its dangers.

When she reached the book wind whirled through her hair and the book flew out of the row, landing on a ground where a page opend. She bent down to look at it not noticing the stare at her back.

It was a picture of a fairy with long brown hair that flew in the wind. Her white shimmering wings were stretched and helped her soar through the sky. A flower crown sat on her head, making her look majestic. She stared at the moving picture and noticed the text that formed under it.

1. Repression is by far the worst complexion of a mind.

2. Hiding yourself in lies stops your true power in being yourself.

3. Living beings are not afraid of helpful power, but of uncontrolled one.

4. A true queen has the mindset of a warrior and the heart of a mother.

She read the sentences a second and even a third time before it dawned onto her. The girl in the picture isn't anyone, it's her.

Suddenly a lion came into view in the picture and before she could do anything she was pulled into the picture and landed in a field of lavender. She slowly stood up and looked around, breathing the calming scent in.

"Hello, my child", came a calming voice from behind her.

"Aslan!", she grinned widely and threw her arms around him. "I missed you."

"Me too, my child. Me too."

She pulled back out o the hug and knew she was here for a reason.

"So, why am I here?"

Aslan chuckled lowly and began to walk forward.

"Come. I want to show you something."

She followed him through the lavender field to where the forest began.

"I want to show you your origin . You suppress yourself on wishes of others, that's not your nature", he said softly making her look down to the ground.

He guided them through the trees before he came to a golden doorway and stepped through it. But the moment Melody followed him she felt a surge of power flow through her and the trees around her slowly began to glow and move itself out of the way to create a path. Power pulsated in her veins and when she looked at her arms the veins had a violet shimmer through her skin.

"What's happening", Melody asked breathless and looked to Aslan who just smiled knowingly.

"You are home, Melody. Welcome to the court of the fairies. There is so much to tell you but so little time. I just wanted you to guide you to it so you can explore it yourself and find your inner strength that you will need."

Melody, still overwhelmed with her magic and the atmosphere didn't answer directly. Her magic danced around her fingers and she could feel herself slowly connecting to all the trees and creature living around her.

"It's like another world", she whispered. Her fingers touched a tree and green veins seemed to make itself out beween the cracks of its bark. She could feel the energy and her magic flowing freely in the air around her. She laughed at how relieved she felt. For a short moment her magic was all around her and not stocked away in her, making her feel euphoric.

"That my child, is who you truly are. That and more."

"This is amazing!"

"Unfortunately you have to get back. Wouldn't want to make your friend suspicious, would you. I will visit you in your dreams and help you find this place by yourself. But until then you have to learn to let go and appreciate the magic you were given, not suppressing it."

She nodded and closed her eyes, bracing herself for the change of atmosphere. She dreaded leaving her land but she knew she had not other choice and she couldn't let her friends behind.

"Everything alright Melody?", asked someone behind her and put a hand on her shoulder. She turned around and met the piercing stare of Deliam.

"Yeah, everything's fine." She could still feel a little part of power linger in her and the freeing feeling she felt. And she knew she would have to show herself to unfold herself. And if that meant going against Deliam's rules than so be it. "Perfectly fine."

She spotted Matthew eyes who had an indifferent look in them. She went over to him, but not before she let her shoulder bump into Deliam's. She didn't forget how he wasn't there when they searched for her and Lucy or when they entered the mansion.

She placed herself next to Matthew who looked at her.

"Did something happend? I... you... something feels different", he tried to explain the way his veins started to pulse for a moment and his wings wanted to force themselves out of him. The air around her changed and he noticed it, the tingling sensation in his finger halting him.

"I'll tell you later", she whispered to him and focused herself back on the conversation that she missed.

"But beware. You are all about to be tested", Coriakin exclaimed.

"Tested?", questioned Lucy.

"Until you lay down the seventh sword, evil has the upper hand. It will do everything in his power to tempt you. Be strong." He looked intently at everyone.

"Great. So until we find the other lords who could be dead by now and take their swords AND lay them down at an island far away AND find a fucking star that we never saw in all of our lives evil rules over us? Matthew raised an eyebrow.

"Yes."

"Wonderful", commented Melody and let the sarcasm lace her words.
