But beware. You are all about to be tested", Coriakin exclaimed.
"Tested?", questioned Lucy.
"Until you lay down the seventh sword, evil has the upper hand. It will do everything in his power to tempt you. Be strong." He looked intently at everyone.
"Great. So until we find the other lords who could be dead by now and take their swords AND lay them down at an island far away AND find a fucking star that we never saw in all of our lives evil rules over us? Matthew raised an eyebrow.
"Yes."
"Wondeful", commented Melody and let the sarcasm lace her words.
---
"Don't fall to temptation. To defeat the darkness out there you must defeat the darkness inside yourself", ordered Coriakin and let everybody know that every single one of them had to fight. But what Melody didn't miss, was how his gaze lingered on Deliam a bit longer. Nobody seemed to notice. But she did.
After the deafening silence was getting too much for Melody and Matthew they interwined their hands and took a few steps back.
"Well if that was everything we need to know we should get going. We're going to have a long journey ahead of us", exclaimed Melody and with a wave she stepped through the doors and went back to the outside with Matthew right next to her.
"Wanna tell me what happend in there?"
Melody didn't answer and just stared ahead, caught up in the dream like place she had seen. The place of her origin.
"I think I went home."
"And what the hell does that mean?" Even though he didn't know what she was talking about and tried to get some answers out of her he supportingly stroked his thumb over their interwined hands.
"Did you know there is a place where we came from? The fairy court. It's our home", she whispered and stared straight ahead at the closed wing doors of the mansion.
"Are you sure that it's our home?", he stopped after the sentence and gazed in her green eyes. "You forget that a home isn't just a place. It is where you feel the most comfortable, it is where you have the person you love around."
She sighed and looked at the ground that suddenly became very interesting. She didn't consider the reasoning Matthew just listed, but she can't forget the feeling she felt in her veins. The free feeling of her magic all around not locked away in her inner self.
"I know. But I... just felt free. The supressed magic in me slowly corrupts me and I honestly don't know how much longer I can withhold the dreading feeling of my inner death."
"Oh sweetheart", he whispered with emphatie and brought her in a tight hug. "We're going to get through this. And we can slowly start to unravel you magic so no one gets hurt. How does that sound?"
She sniffled slightly and wiped her tears. All the events from today came crashing down on her and she couldn't withstand the need to cry.
Matthew just held her and slightly swung them until her silent sniffling reduced and she looked up at him with puffy eyes.
"Thank you. You're the best."
"Say's the princess", he joked and softly kissed her forehead before letting her out of his hold.
"Let's go back. I'm sure Eustace is freaking out right now."
Melody nodded and they made their way back out of the mansion to the crew that awaited them.
"Wipe that frown of your face or you'll get wrinkles", spoke Edmund with a grin and stepped away from Caspian to the open doors of the mansion. Both of them and even Deliam who stood a bit behind them witnessed the talk of Matthew and Melody from afar. They misjudged the look and gestures between the two and concluded that they were romantically involved with each other.
It bothered Deliam because he overheard them the other day on deck and knew of Matthew. He didn't like it one bit that the two fairies associated with each other. He had to seperate them before Melody could discover the power in her or her heritage.
Edmund couldn't help the grin on his face when he saw the jealous look on Caspian's face. He knew it wasn't fair but he couldn't help and feel a little satisfaction that Caspian was not the number one for everyone and didn't get everything he wanted. And he also was happy for Melody because he saw the bond between Matthew and Melody and knew that they were made for each other for eternity.
He didn't know that neither Melody nor Matthew thought of each other romantically because there was a greater bond than romantic love between them. A bind that they will soon discover if theyn don't let others come between the two.
Caspian on the other hand was furious and couldn't shake of the suffocating feeling that filled his lungs and consumed his mind. He didn't want Melody and Matthew to be together. He wanted her for himself. He knew it was selfish but the feeling of jealousy rattled through him and would only tighten the more he thought about the relationship between the two.
He didn't know how wrong he was in judging the relation between the two.
But what every single one of the three boys forgot was the warning Coriakin gave them just mere minutes ago. But they weren't keen anymore on defeating the darkness inside of themselves. Not until they could get or achieve what they wanted.
They couldn't know the damage they will cause.

Hey, the author here. This is my first note but I just wanted to say sorry that the chapter became so short. I'll try to make the next ones longer.
I wanted to bring Melody more into this and also her brother. The next chapters will be mostly about her, her heritage, her relation to Matthew, Caspian, Edmund, Lucy and even Eustace.
I will hold myself to the plot of the movie, my ideas are just add-ons for Melody's storyline.
I hope this story is so far good and readable.
Be excited and have fun reading the soon to be following chapters!
