Chapter 4: As Dawson walked into the firehouse Casey ran up to her, 'DAWSON! Thank god you're ok!' He said as he hugged her tightly 'oh, boy is it good to see you, do you want to come with me to check up on Shay?' Dawson as she straightened her jacket 'absolutely, I'll meet you outside in 10, keep your radio on though'. Casey and Dawson walked into Shay's hospital room 'hey! Casey and Dawson, I've never been so happy to see you two!' Shay said with a smile, Casey looked at Dawson and cleared his throat 'yeah, me and Dawson thought we'd check up on you and by the looks of it you look pretty damn good to me!....' Dawson sat down on her bed 'you're workin'?' Shay asked 'yeah, we'll with you faking it somebody's gotta step up.... Listen, don't do that again, you scared me girl' Casey smiled then looked behind him 'shay?' Severide said with a smile 'hey! I was worried about you.. I picked up these for you' he said as he held out a bouquet of flowers and kissed Shay on the cheek. Casey looked at Shay 'hey, listen, me and Dawson are still on shift, we better get back to the station' Shay smiled 'it's ok, see you later then'. As Dawson hopped into Casey's car she said 'hey, thank you for coming with me, it means a lot to me' Casey grinned 'yeah, I'm happy to help, let's go give a report back to chief about Shay'. That night Dawson was having dinner with Antonio and Antonio noticed her smile 'whatcha thinking about sis?' He said snapping her out of thoughts 'oh, nothing' she said still smiling after Antonio left she went to bed but was kept up at the thought of casey and couldn't stop thinking about him and wondered if he liked her as much as she liked him and then she realised that sometimes god has a better plan than what you have in mind.
