Gabby ran into the lounge room as she got ready for work, Matt didn't set the alarm and now... They were late for work.
"Matt! Where are my earrings?"
"I don't know, I didn't touch them!" Came back.
"Oh and speaking of earrings, I forgot mum and dad's anniversary party is tomorrow night"
Matt came around the the kitchen where she was standing.
" oh crap, I didn't realise. I'll rent a suit, you get someone to babysit Leslie and get a dress. Now, let's go to work before Chief kills us"
Gabby laughed as she grabbed her bag, " I'm sure he won't kill us"

It had been a fairly quiet shift with only a couple of calls, the only major one involving two kids in a warehouse and they had all finished at 8 am. Gabby and Matt slowly walked out of the firehouse as they talked.
"Matt, we'll go home first then you can go pick up the dry cleaning while I start getting ready"
Matt looked at her confused " wait... I thought it doesn't start till tonight..." Gabby laughed
" oh poor Matty! Didn't you get the memo that getting ready for these type of things takes the whole day?" She managed to say through her laughter
" have we gotten everything ready?" Gabby tapped his shoulder
"I wouldn't be opposed to flowers and chocolates"
Matt stared at her "wait.... but I thought we already got your parents a present..."
gabby scoffed " not for them Matt" as she hopped into the car.

Matt and Gabby slowly walked into the venue room where the party was being held, greeted by Antonio and his wife Laura as they walked to the bar. Laura walked towards Gabby and smiled "Oye Mamita, you look amazing!" She said while laughing
"just look at you Laura! You're glowing! Wait.... are you pregnant?" She said while looking down at the glass in Laura's hand
"that's orange juice... YOU ARE PREGNANT!!"
Laura glared at Gabby "Gabriella Casey, you better be quiet... I haven't told mama and papa Dawson yet and they're already going through their own crap... they don't need me to bombard them with baby news!" Gabby's face dropped
" wait what do you mean 'their own crap'? What's wrong?"
Laura sighed " they had an argument a couple of weeks ago and now Papa is saying crap to Mama"
Gabby scoffed "really? Why didn't anyone tell me that? Where is he?" She said looking around
"Babe, I don't think it's a good idea cause you might go all 'Gabby Dawson' on this" Matt said as he grabbed her around the waist
" no Matt, I'm just gonna ask him what's going on... that's it" gabby said walking away, only to find that everyone was about to be seated.
She walked back over to the table where Matt, Antonio and Laura where sitting and sat down "well there goes talking to papa"
Matt rubbed her back " it was probably for a good reason, you can talk to him after" Antonio laughed
"you probably won't even get a chance... already looks like he's drunk" they all sat down and listened to Camilla and mostly Ramon talk... until Camilla's face dropped and she tried to grab Ramon's arm
