Chapter 18: Dawson sat in the chaplains office without saying a word 'you know, all the counselling courses say that I should wait for you to tell me first, but I also know first responders aren't always the strongest', Dawson sat there staring at him 'it's ok I can wait' the chaplain said as he sat back in his chair, Dawson was trying to say something but the words wouldn't come out 'we...we traded places... I told her to switch with me, and she ended up right where I was standing, where I should have been when the beam came down' Dawson said as she started crying, the chaplain got up and sat next to Dawson as he hugged her. As Dawson got home she went into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee and saw Casey sitting at the table 'hey' she said as she kissed him, as he smiled he said 'hey, how was your appointment?', Dawson sat down and handed him a cup of coffee 'yeah, it was good, the chaplain's really helped me deal with this' she said as she held his hand, Casey looked up at her 'are you sure you're ok?', Dawson lent over towards Casey 'yeah, I....I'm fine' she said as she kissed him.
