Chapter 134: a week later Casey was discharged from the hospital and Severide had moved into Casey and Dawson's apartment, he came up to the hospital with Dawson to help Casey. They walked up to his room and opened the door, Casey turned around 'hey guys' Dawson walked over to him and planted a kiss on his lips 'ready to go home?' Casey nodded 'hell yeah, let's get out of this place! I absolutely hate hospitals' Dawson laughed 'yeah babe, I know you do now let's go' she said as she grabbed his bag. They walked into their apartment 'god, I missed this place.... A lot' Dawson laughed 'yeah, I think Kelly, Leslie and I missed you being around too' Casey laughed 'yeah, I know' Severide cleared his throat 'umm, guys, do you mind if I invite an old friend over tonight?' Casey smiled 'yeah sure, who's the friend?' Severide looked down and back up at Casey 'she's a nurse at Chicago Med, April Sexton, I just ran into her the other day after not seeing her since senior year of school' Casey smiled 'yeah, absolutely, that's no problem'. Dawson had just finished cooking dinner and had set the table when there was a knock at the door, Severide stood up 'that'd be April' he said walking to the door, he opened it 'hey, April, how are you?' April smiled and hugged him 'I'm good, thanks, i brought some champagne, how are you?' Severide smiled again 'yeah, I'm good and thanks, you didn't have to bring anything' she laughed 'all good, didn't want to come without anything' Severide and April walked into the kitchen 'gabby, Matt, this is April, my old friend I was talking about' Dawson smiled 'hey April, make yourself at home, how are you?' She said as she hugged her 'yeah, I'm good thanks, how about you?' April nodded 'yeah, I'm pretty good, it's nice to catch up with Kelly after such a long time' Casey nodded 'yeah, it would be, hi I'm Matt' April grinned 'nice to meet you' she said as she shook his hand 'oh, this is my daughter Leslie' Dawson said as she picked up Leslie 'oh hello sweetheart, aren't you just too adorable!' April said making Leslie giggle 'hi' she said shyly 'hi honey, I'm April' Leslie smiled 'I Leslie' April laughed 'she's too cute' Casey rubbed his hands together 'alright, I think we should get dinner started' April nodded 'yeah, me too, I'm starving'. They all sat down at the table and made small table while eating, after they finished Dawson took Leslie up to her room to put her to sleep, Casey watched her walking up the stairs and followed her, he opened the door to Leslie's room and walked in 'hey' he said in a hushed tone, Dawson turned around and smiled still swaying her hips 'hey, why aren't you downstairs with Kelly and April?' Casey shrugged 'I don't know, just wanted to see if you guys were okay' Dawson smiled and kissed him 'yeah, we're good, now you can go downstairs now, she's asleep, I'll be out in a minute' Casey nodded and waited in the hallway. Dawson came out a few minutes later and laughed when she saw Casey 'babe, I told you to go downstairs and enjoy yourself' Casey sighed 'well.... If I did that, I wouldn't be able to do this' he said as he slipped his hands around her waist and pulled her lips up to his, kissing her soft and long, Dawson pulled back 'where did that come from?' She said laughing, Casey shrugged 'I have no idea, now let's go downstairs' he said as he pulled Dawson down the stairs. Dawson, Casey, Kelly and April drank some champagne and talked for a while until April had to leave. Dawson and Casey said goodnight to April and Kelly and then walked upstairs and fell into bed, falling asleep in each other's arms immediately.
