CHAPTER 19 THE CHALLENGE PART 1

Tyron POV

I'm currently packing up the office to close for the night, when suddenly I hear the door open, I go to the front, "Sorry we are closed." I say, then see my half brother and his wife, "I was hoping you'd make an exception for me, after all we are family aren't we little brother?" Roderick smirks at me, I sneer at him, "Be careful Roderick, just because you are my older siblings doesn't mean you are above me, I am a council member and the founder of the dragon council." I warned coldly, but he wouldn't back down,

"You know, I was thinking about that, you are a member of the council and it's founder that's true, but you still must abide by the rules of the council do you not?" He asks, I narrow my eyes at him, what is he up to? "Yes I do, what are you getting at?" I ask cautiously, "The council recently passed a new law stating that every dragon has a right to challenge another dragon for specific titles, is this not true?" His daughter asked, "Yes so what?" I ask, "So if I were to challenge my brother for the position of empress he would have no choice but to accept then right?" She asks sweetly but I can sense the evil in her, my eyes widen at the realization of what they are wanting to do.

I must warn Daniel, and just as I'm about to protest they stop me, "And before you even think about helping the boy, you should take a look at this, this is an order of cease and desist, signed and approved by the other council members, it basically states that you in no way can intervene in this challenge, this includes talking to the emperor and the other empresses to stop the challenge, you as the uncle of both parties can only talk to Daniel and tell him about the challenge, if you try to deter it in any way you will be suspended from the council for a month, you will lose any and all influence as a council member during that time." My sister in law says as she hands me the document, I read it over and I pale,  it's authentic, this is really not good, I glare at my extended family,

They've thought of everything, "Why are you so obsessed with your daughter becoming empress? You know that even if you win and become empress, now that everyone knows the truth about you abusing Daniel and all the other things you've done to him, the other dragons will not respect you, so why do this?" I ask genuinely curious, "Even if the other dragons know what we've done to that waste of space, it doesn't matter, if I become empress then they'll have no choice but to listen to me, not to mention the fact that even though the emperor gave us our own personal castle's and servants, being the empress would mean the emperor would have to spend time with me, and that's all the chance I need to prove that I should be by the emperor's side, not Daniel!" She yelled the last part out,

"Plus according to the challenge rules we can make any demands of him we want, and after my daughter wins I'll see to it personally that he watches in despair as we yank the children away from him." Vicky says smugly, "You people are the embodiment of evil," I sneer at them, "How dare you?!" Valerie yells at me, "Our family should have been the one's to reap the rewards of the emperor but he chose that lowlife instead! I will not stand for the dragon empire to crumble because of some weak pathetic omega!" Roderick yells,

"And I refuse to let my kids be tainted by that omega!" Vicky sneered, "If memory serves some of your children are omegas and your two youngest are omegas, why would you care if they're being raised by someone who will actually care for them?" I ask, "Besides, the kids are his legally, and not even the challenge you're issuing will make him agree to give them up.

And not only that, but I know the challenge you're talking about, and even though I can't intervene both the emperor and the council know how you've treated the children, they would never let you keep them, I'll stand aside for the challenge if you win but the children are off limits." I say in the end,

They look annoyed but they know that I'm right, "Fine but if we win the empresses palace and the title of fourth empress falls to my daughter as it should have been." Roderick says, I agreed to it, and after my little appointment I rushed to Daniel's palace, I get to the gate and tell the guards who I am, they immediately let me in,

I go directly to the front door, banging on it and one of the household members lets me in, I tell him I need to speak to Daniel and he immediately rushes to get him.

"Tyron what brings you here this late at night?" I turn around and see Daniel descending the stairs, I bow remembering that he is the empress, "I greet the fourth empress Daniel Gemson." Then he bows to me, "I greet council member Tyron Sands." He smiles, then when he sees the look on my face he frowns, "What's wrong?" He asks concerned, little did he know that his whole world may just come crashing down.
