CHAPTER 2 THE TRAP

Daniel POV

It's been nearly two weeks since we have lived with our older brother and honestly it's been amazing, it's like a giant weight has been lifted from me, lance and lyle's shoulders, we can finally breathe in peace, and while Tyler goes off to work, I clean and take care of the house and the kids, I pick them up from school and help them with homework, then I make dinner for everyone, Tyler says I don't need to do this but I want to, it's the least I could do after he helped us out so much, he saved us and once I can get a house for me Lyle and Lance I will immediately pay him back.

I'm currently in the laundry room sorting everyone's clothes and as I finish I go to the rooms and start putting away the laundry, I then hear the front door open and I look at my phone and see it's still noonish so the kids should still be in school and Tyler should still be at work, I get worried and slowly peek out and see my brother, I frown in great confusion.

"You're supposed to be at work." I say from upstairs, he jumps and looks up at me as I'm coming down the stairs, I can see it on his face he's terrified for some reason, I go to him, "What's wrong you look scared?" I ask genuinely concerned, "The three remaining clan leaders of Ardor, frost, and Asear are dead." He tells me.

My hands immediately went to cover my mouth in shock, I know who those are, they were some of the clans who opposed the new dragon emperor, "What happened?" I asked, "According to the council he took out all three of them, He lured them out of hiding by kidnapping the Ardor and Frost clan leaders sons and the Asear clan leaders husband, a cowardly tactic, they fought valiantly but he killed them, tore out their hearts, and then forced their sons and the husband to be mated to three of his royal guards, just like he did with the others, to keep them in line and stop them from causing trouble."

"He's a coward and a bully, forcing them to mate with his royal guards to keep them in line? That's disgusting!" I hissed, "I agree but unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it,

and with their deaths I am the last Dragon clan leader left to oppose him, he'll use any and all tactics to his advantage to get to me, so you and the kids need to be careful, I've already told the school that only you and me are allowed to pick up the kids, also you should be careful going to work." He told me, "You don't have to worry about that, after I got thrown out our parents bribed my manager to fire me, not realizing I was going to quit any way, so I'll be a stay at home dad and -" I didn't get to find the sentence because a huge wave of nausea hit me, I ran to the toilet and puked my guts out,

"Are you ok?" Tyler asked concerned, "Yeah I'm fine I've been feeling sick for the past few days now but I'm sure it's nothing." I told him honestly, he looked scared for me and I can understand why, supernatural beings can't get sick, "Why don't we pick up the kids and then go to the doctor?" He said but I could hear the underlying tone that left no room for an argument, so I rinsed my mouth out and got ready.

We picked up the kids and went to a friend of our family who was also a doctor and a member of the dragon council, Tyron Sands, "Tyler, Daniel it's been ages!" He bellows as we enter his clinic, we let the kids play in his private park area he has, while I get checked out by him. "All right now what seems to be the problem?" He asks, I tell him how I've been throwing up for the past few days and how I've gotten moody and tired lately, as I list off what's been happening to me he places his hand on his chin and seems deep in thought.

"Daniel, have you been sexually active lately?" He asks me so bluntly, I blush furiously and shake my head then remember what happened a month ago, then I bring my knees up to my chest, as I wanted to answer, my brother beat me to it

"A month and a half ago Daniel was assaulted by my ex best friend, my parents wanted to make him suffer since he apparently didn't make dinner for them on time, they'd been using him as a servant since he was 12 apparently since he awakened as an omega dragon, I'd only found out recently, plus they threw him out and our little brothers because Lyle and Lance also awakened as omegas. They've been living with me for the past couple weeks."

Tyron looked at me with pity and then had a look of disgust when Tyler told him the rest. "I am so sorry you had to go through that, if I'd known I would have punished them for what they did." Councilman Sands tells me,

"It's fine I just want to let the past be the past, also what does me being........ Active have to do with what's happening with me?" I asked and blushed, "Well I have a theory but I don't want to say until I'm 100 percent sure, could you lift your shirt for me please?" He asked and moved some kind of machine towards me, and laid back and did as told, then he put some kind of gel on my stomach, I shivered at the coldness,

After that he put some kind of weird wand thing on my stomach and started moving it around, he then moved it to a certain spot and smiled like he found what he was looking for, I looked at the monitor and saw a large black dot, I frowned in confusion,

"What is that?" I asked, he then turned to me and smiled sadly which was freaking me out a little, "It looks like my hunch was right, you are with child. From the look of it you're about a month along which in supernatural terms means about two and a half months, so it looks like your baby will be born in about four months." He said so casually, I was in shock, I looked at the monitor and stared at the black spot, my baby, I then put my hands on my stomach and smiled, I'm pregnant but then I remembered how I got pregnant.

I then shake my head and focus on the positive, this child will be so loved and nurtued, I don't even care about how it was conceived, "When can I know the gender?" I ask as I wipe the gel off, "Come back in two weeks and we can know then." Tyron says,

We schedule the appointment and collect the kids, then we leave and start planning on what to do next, and as we get back home, I suddenly feel very tired so I head to bed early, as I drift off to sleep I think about what the future will hold for me and my unborn child.

TYLER POV

As I send the kids off to bed I get a phone call, I look at the screen and roll my eyes, I answer "What do you want Victoria?" I answer with as much venom as possible, "is that any way to talk to your wife?" She says in a flirtatious tone,

"Ex wife, remember? You were secretly screwing my best friend behind my back then abandoned me and your children for said best friend, now ex best friend. So why are you calling me?" Annoyed with her already, apparently she didn't like my tone because she got less flirty and more annoyed, "Look I'm only calling because I wanted to talk about the kids I wanted to see if you'd be willing to do shared custody? Meet me, I'll text you where." She then hung up,

I scoffed, shared custody? She must be joking it's been two years since she left and not once has she even tried to visit the kids, even when we were together she never took any real interest in the children, what is she up to I wonder?

I get to the place where she wants to meet, I look around and see it's the waterfall where we had our first picnic together, but something doesn't feel right, Requaz suddenly gets extremely defensive and starts growling, "I see you made it." A voice I recognize that sends chills up my spine, I turn around and am met face to face with none other than the dragon emperor himself, Darren Stoneright.
