DDONGHYUCK & JIJI'S CONTRACT

after agreeing on the pact, both donghyuck and minji each had to come up with a set of rules that the both of them ought not to break. as of now, the two were sitting in minji's bedroom, brainstorming for rules.

with a notepad and a pen in her hand, minji looked at donghyuck to see if he has any suggestions on what rules will be important in maintaining this fake relationship. "so, any ideas for the first rule?"

"no emotional attachment to each other whatsoever." it seemed, seeing the way he answered so quickly, the boy had thought about the contract pretty seriously, for once in his life. "this should be strictly for revenge purposes, so i can't have you falling in love with me."

the brunette girl laughed at his joke, which actually wasn't entirely a joke, and wrote down what he said.

"watch your words, hyuck. you'll be in love with me in a week." she shot her eyes up at donghyuck, who was peacefully sitting on her bed, to greet him with a grin.

"okay, next one should be that we won't tell a soul about this." minji continued as donghyuck agreed with the new rule. while she was writing it down, he thought about what the next rule should be.

"what about physical boundaries? like where do we draw the line?"

it was a good question, honestly. if they wanted to be able to play off this fake relationship, the both of them had to be willing to show each other at least a little affection, as well as respect each other's boundaries.

"i'm fine with any form of skinship. what about you?" minji replied, looking at the boy in front of her, who seemed to have put on a small grin.

"you have my consent to do whatever," donghyuck responded in a way that was a little too flirty, yet a little too serious to be a joke. "but i still want us to respect each other's boundaries. so no means no."

"i agree. i respect your boundaries, you respect mine, and no means no." she replied before moving on to the next rule. "okay, next."

"we can't kiss or have sex with other people." donghyuck immediatly suggested, causing minji to gasp.

"damn hyuck, you want me all by yourself? greedy much?" this time it wasn't donghyuck who made a flirty remark, but it was minji, which caused the former to sarcastically laugh.

"shut up, i just mean we shouldn't, because otherwise people might find out and think we're cheating or something."

"sure, whatever you say, sweetheart. but i won't kiss or have sex with anyone other than you of course." minji wiggles her eyebrows to try and get a reaction out of donghyuck, but he responded with a disgusted look.

"ew, don't say that. you disgust me. but yeah, neither will i."

both of them dramatically rested their right hands on their heart as they swore not to break the newfound rule.

"like your celibate ass will find anyone to canoodle with anyways." minji added, causing him to slight scoff, followed by a laugh.

"i hate you." the boy flipped her off with a cheeky smile on his face.

"get used to it." she said before writing the rule down on her notepad.

in the short amount of time they'd been sitting inside of minji's room, five rules had already been written down on the notepad that minji had chosen to use for this particular situation. the sixth and seventh rule were made up by donghyuck himself.

"rule number six, we have to regularly go on dates and post about it of course, and rule number seven, we must put our past rivalry aside." he proposed, watching the reaction on minji's face as she thought about the two new rules.

"sure, but don't expect me to completely forget our lifelong rivalry. i have had tons of fun teasing you, and i don't plan on stopping." the girl smirked to which donghyuck slightly tilted his head with a sarcastic smile.

"fine, as long as it doesn't mess with the pact. i wouldn't want to miss out on pissing you off either."
leaning forward, he softly pressed her nose, making her sarcastically scoff.

"alright, that's settled then." minji grabbed her pen again and started writing down the rules they had just come up with. "then as rule number eight, you have to tell the truth about why you hate jeno."

a lingering silence took over the room as donghyuck was completely frozen in his spot. he knew she would ask about it eventually, but he didn't know what he should've done when that time came.

not wanting her to be too suspicious of his sudden silent manner, he decided to agree upon the rule on one condition.

"alright. but you have to tell me your reason as well and we can both choose when we tell the other." the boy stretched out his hand for her to shake.

for the record, minji had only told donghyuck the story of her and jeno during their relationship, not what ended it. so eventually she would have to tell him the story of how he cheated on her with her friend.

"deal."

after shaking each other's hands, the two soon-to-be-fake-lovers fell silent again to think about the next rule, only to find out they had run out of rules to put on the notepad. except for one last rule, which was the most important one at that.

"last one, if one of us manages to even break one single rule, the pact is over." minji spoke up after the long silence. she looked over at donghyuck to see if he agreed with her statement. "so, hyuck, what do you say? have we got ourselves a deal?"

"let's play the game, my love."
