LET'S PLAY THE GAME

despite the fact that minji told mark she'd be there quickly after her last text to him, it was already one am, since jaemin thought it would be a good idea to park the car on the other side of town and continue the rest of the route by foot.

about fifteen minutes later, the two had arrived at the party, and it was exactly what minji had expected from it. loud music, bright fluorescent lights, and lots of people. though the girl herself wasn't much of a regular partier, she found herself enjoying them every once in a while.

as minji and jaemin stepped through the front door opening after opening it, they were immediately greeted by the owner of the house.

"hey, you're here!" mark ecstatically shouted over the loud music and opened his arms to embrace his friend's sister, whom he hadn't spoken to in a long time. "i'm so glad you still came to the party, minji."

breaking apart the hug, minji smiled at the older boy. she was excited to see him since her brother never really wanted her to hang around his friends as he was afraid she would get involved with one of them and ruin his friendships.

luckily, jimin finally came around and agreed to let her join the party. after all, minji was only a year younger than him and she had every right to befriend anyone she wanted.

walking inside, the girl already spotted her best friends standing by the pool table, so she rapidly made her way towards them. the moment they spotted her, a their faces lit up and she gave them a hug.

"jesus, you're finally here. it took you ages." jaehyun, who was noticeably tipsy, put down his drink and used his hand to ruffle her hair.

jungwoo was far more wasted than then other boy, judging by his reddened face and his inability to walk properly in a straight line. "i'm so happy you're here." he smiled at her.

"me too." she quickly side-hugged the boy and pointed towards the kitchen. "i'm gonna get a drink. be right back"

since she was completely, minji knew she would need some more alcohol to boost her social battery. opening the fridge, she took out a beer bottle for herself and filled another cup with some water.

"already drinking water?" a familiar voice prevented her from returning to her friends at the pool table.

minji didn't even have to look to know who it was that was talking to her. just his mere presence was already enough to make it obvious. "definitely not. this is for jungwoo. i fear he'll pass out if he has one more drink." she slightly raised her voice over the music.

turning around, minji was now facing the boy and shot him a grin before ultimately deciding to head back to the pool table.

"hi, hyuck."

the majority of minji's night consisted of playing beer pong, karaoke and catching up with friends or fellow college students. she mostly stuck around with jungwoo and jaehyun, since they were about the only people she was genuinely close with.

currently, she was on her way to the kitchen to get another drink. however, her cheery state of mind was disturbed as she saw the one person she didn't want to see there. especially since she was looking for her friends, so she was on her own at the moment.
