Kazuya casts a summoning jutsu and a bat-like creature emerges from it.
- Boruto : What is that thing?? It has the appearance of a bat but with a body like a lion and a tail like a scorpion?? Arghh!! Am I hallucinating for real this time???
- Kazuya : Let me introduce you to Manta, my ultimate summoning.. It's a Manticore.
- Boruto : Ultimate summoning???
Manta immediately flew towards Boruto knocking down the pillars of the place, trying to pounce at him. Boruto managed to avoid it and he was surprised by Manta's speed and aggression. Manta turned to the right and stared at Boruto with its demonic bright red eyes with a bloodthirsty reaction.
Manta then began to stretch out its scorpion-like tail and attack Boruto with it. Boruto then dodged back to the left but Manta's speed overcame his reflexes and wiped Boruto's leg causing him to fall to the side. Just before Manta used its spear tail to stab him, Boruto managed to infuse lightning style into his sword and cut it but the tail reattach itself in an instant and keeps moving forward. Boruto noticed at the last moment and tilted his shoulder down to the left. As Manta's spear tail was stuck into the floor, Boruto used Gale's wind-style palm to blast the tail completely.
Boruto jumped back to get some distance between them while analyzing the hole in the floor caused by Manta's spear tail.
- Boruto : Something seems off. The edge of the hole looked like it was melting. The tail of that thing can release acid? (while staring at the Manta's tail slowly growing back)
Both Boruto & Manta then move forward towards each other. Manta then jumped forward towards Boruto trying to pounce on him again. Boruto used his Byakugan to slightly evade it then sliced Manta in half leaving Boruto completely covered in its blood. After that, he then turned his attention to Kazuya but noticed that he was smiling.
- Kazuya : Nice reflexes. However, Don't be so confident. Like I said, Manta is the ultimate summoning.
Boruto is surprised that there are 2 Mantas now. The two of them flew up and tried to ram its horns into him but he used the Eight Trigram Palm rotation just in time to drive them away. The Eight Trigram Palm Rotation also created a large cloud of dust to cover their vision. Boruto took this opportunity to hide behind a 'pillar located near the hole Manta stabbed earlier'.
- Boruto internal log : Shit ! Now there are 2 of them!!. This is so annoying. I need to strategize quickly. (While looking at the hole in the ground that Manta stabbed earlier)
- Kazuya : Heh! Do you think creating this clouds of dust will make you undetectable?
The first manta then roared in a high pitched voice forcing Boruto to react to it by covering his ears. He then felt something's making his whole body vibrates & slowly crushing him, leaving him unable to move and forced to maintain in that pose. He then used his Byakugan ability to scan what was going on but nothing was suspicious.
THE SCENE THEN CUTS TO KAZUYA.
- Kazuya's internal log : Heh.. Manta's voice is able to produce echolocation abilities by emitting high-frequency sound pulses through their mouths or noses and hearing echoes. With this echo, it can determine the size, shape and texture of objects in its surrounding environment. In addition, its voice also produces micro sound waves that will paralyse opponents & blow up their eardrums, making them deaf if they don't cover their ears quickly.

An originally regular summoning animal that was experimented by Kazuya to give it several abilities & features. Making it the ultimate summoning.
