A Different Kind Of Newbie

Sooo.. I just started working here ! Yea
My life before was pretty plain, I always wanted to become a doctor, or nurse, or any healthcare worker, but I've never found any good places for that, so I had to settle with boring old 9 to 5 retail jobs, but at last ! I've got it !
When I got to the mansion I was EXTREMELY skeptical at first, seeing other people around and having such a warm welcome helped calm my nerves a bit

The stuff here... It's nothing at all of what I expected, I was honestly really scared at first, but, these specimen don't seem so bad, just misunderstood is all

There's the 1s, they can be kind of mean and playfully rough but thankfully, they haven't killed anyone
There's 2, she's a bit frightened and akwatd, but she's pretty funny
The 3s are very dog like, One can be a bit of a jerk and Two is shy, but Three is veru relaxed and moderate, though they do always seem to be hungry
And then there's 4, I'm.. honestly worried about her, for the 3 days I've been here, I mostly hear her scream, cry and she runs away from us.. she seems only slightly less scared of me than the others

Again, I and half the workers have only been here for 3 days, we've seen how the "veterans" act towards the specimen, they're pretty.. cold and rough to them, but the specimen don't seem to bad but, then again, maybe there's info we're missing, if so, I wish they'd tell us instead of looking at us weird when we try to be nice to the specimen

We get to have rooms, were separated into 3s, our rooms have beds, a mini fridge, and an office and lab to work in, and the food here is surprisingly decent, so far, while I'm definitely a bit freaked out, I'm enjoying my time here !!

Oh ! That's right ! I almost forgot
We're going tomorrow to pick up this specimen, Specimen 5, they're in a church and run a cult, I don't know what they look like yet but we're about to have a meeting about it, they said they've been observing Specimen 5 for a while now and they think that they're " perfect " (whatever that means)
I'd rather not get fired within the first week of being here so I think it's best to oblige and follow instructions

" Listen here, team, this is Specimen 5 "
The GM (generic manager) stepped back, pressed a button on a remote, and the projector projected images onto the screen, it was of a faceless mannequin, it's bread colored, they look a bit burnt on some areas, and they like to carry a sword.
I heard a few gasps, some people shuddered, but I just.. stared.. if you ignore some of the blood and the whole cult thing, they look really cute, in my opinion, maybe there's more to them than just being scary. I must admit, I'm kind of scared, but also excited, to meet them

" Specimen 5 is known for being agressive towards humans, and after some observation, it's clear this thing has a hatred for humans and is nothing more than just a monster with a thirst for blood and violence, but they're also cowardly"
I raised my hand, the GM looked at me and nodded " 1313 ? "
" Yeah, uh, how do we know that maybe it's not just scared of humans ? "
He scoffed and crossed his arms " here, in GL Labs, we test on those undeserving of life on this planet, and if that thing was scared of humans, why does it run a cult full of human followers ? "
I shrunk down a bit in my seat at the sudden rise in sternness, I just nodded and twiddled with my fingers

Wait- those undeserving ??? What's that meant to mean ???
I.. believe maybe I've made a mistake
Maybe I'm just overthinking this

" As I was saying.... " He trailed on about how to handle Specimen 5 and what they're like
He's describing them in such a terrible light, he's acting like they're the worst thing on the planet.. I have no room to judge or say anything, I don't even know what this is, I'll just have to see for myself.. the way he speaks of Specimen 5 makes me feel scared, and by the looks of things, I probably should be..
Maybe I was being naive earlier..

Looking at the faces of the ones who've been here longest, they look tough and cold.. yes.. yes I am being naive

I took down notes of what the GM was saying, I would organize said notes when we got to go to our dorms to get a better idea of this thing..
A 7 foot, faceless, feminine demonic mannequin, weilds a sword and has superhuman strength..
It's cowardly but exfremely agressive towards humans, yet runs a cult of human followers
I don't know how that comes together and makes sense but alright.. ?

They're also apparently into art, huh..

Once the GM was finished, we were allowed to leave and do whatever, so long as we don't tamper with experiments and stay in the mansion

I sat in my dorm on my bed, rewriting my notes while the other two were god knows where.
I'm.. not sure how to feel about this job and

I know, I know this thing likely doesn't care for me, but judging by how the other specimen are, I'm genuinely worried for this thing.. all I'm hoping is that, perhaps, it's not as bad as we think, that maybe they're a little scared ? Only time will tell what Specimen 5 thinks and feels, if they're anything like the other specimen, I hope my fellow labmates try and be kind to them

Then again.. I feel like I'm reaching for the stars, I should stop overthinking about Specimen 5, I should just get to work, maybe rest afterwards..
