- CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE -

ANGER

THE MOMENT that Derek heard the sound of glass breaking and Arlo Hale talking to him through her phone, he instantly got up, rushing to Hotch's office as he slammed the door open. Hotch looked up from his desk, instantly stopping what he was doing when he saw the distressed look on Derek's face.

"What's going on?" Hotch asked him, his expression turning serious in a split second.

Derek panted, trying to figure out what to say. "He has her. Arlo has Soren, Hotch."

"How do you know this?" Hotch asked, grabbing the phone from the side as he dialed Penelope's number as Derek explained what had happened on the phone call. Hotch was immediately worried, they had known what Arlo was capable of doing, but he had shown rage towards his daughter like he had never seen before, which made him concerned about what Arlo was planning on doing.

Penelope picked up the phone whilst Emily and Rossi walked in the room as Derek nervously paced around. Emily and Rossi glanced around at one another as they listened to what Hotch was saying on the phone to Penelope as he quickly hung up, calling JJ and then Spencer as well as they then explained everything to Emily and Rossi as Derek paced around the room.

"When are they getting here?" Derek asked, a slightly annoyed tone to his voice as he stopped, looking at Hotch.

"As soon as possible, we need to get started on trying to find her. Rossi, Prentiss, you two head over too Derek's home to check out if Arlo left anything there to indicate where he has taken her." Hotch ordered them, standing up as he walked out the room with Derek as they entered the round table room.

They sat down, grabbing the box they had for Arlo Hale as they began looking through everything they had on him to try and figure out where they were just as Penelope, Spencer and JJ burst through the doors, with Penelope holding her laptop in hand as she sat down, opening it up.

Hotch ordered her to begin looking through every aspect of Arlo Hale's life, he wanted to break as many boundaries as possible if it meant trying to find Soren as soon as possible, they had found more information on Soren.

Penelope got her profile up, reading out the information. "Soren Ludovica Hale, born August 1st, 1985 to Summer Bianchi and Arlo Hale. Born in Italy, and raised right here in Virginia, Quantico. During school she got Straight A's, never missed a class or got a detention and was only close friends with a few people, no record of any boyfriends or girlfriends. She went to college for a degree in Criminal Psychology and graduated at the top of her class. We all know her sister, Sybil, they were never close growing up but..."

"But what, Penelope?" Derek asked her.

"It seems like Sybil was bullied a lot growing up, and it says here that Soren had a sealed record which I've managed to unseal that says she was arrested for punching said bully numerous times." Penelope smiled as she read the information out, knowing Soren would do anything to protect Sybil.

Derek sighed, he liked hearing what Penelope was saying but he didn't understand what anything she was saying had to do with finding Soren. He needed her back to him as soon as possible. "This isn't helping us right now, try and find something that tells us where she is."

"I know, I just...don't know where to look." Penelope muttered, glancing at him as she typed away on the laptop.

Soon enough, Emily and Rossi returned as the latter explained what they found. "Seems as though he took out the agents out front before entering with the key from them as he then snuck up on her, an empty needle was on the ground and we've sent it off for testing. But he seemed like everything was how it usually was, she was making food and then Arlo showed up."

Derek ran his hand over his head, feeling frustrated with the entire situation. "God damnit."

"I'm sorry, honey." Penelope apologized. "I'm trying to think of something but, I just...I can't."

Derek ignored her as he then turned to look at Spencer as he stared down at some documents in front of him. "Spit it out, kid."

Spencer looked up, furrowing his eyebrows together as he then tried to piece everything together. "Summer has properties all around, I mean dating back to her parents and then too Victoria Bianchi. None of them have been in Arlo's name, but it could be possible that he has found one of them that is secluded enough for him to take her there."

"Garcia, run through all of these and find one that has been abandoned for at least a year." Hotch ordered her.

"Why would he take her to one of Summer's properties? Surely he must know some contacts that can get him out of America again?" JJ thought out loud, feeling as though they were missing something significant.

"He may of known about our plan all along with the café, he needed to act quickly and this is the only way he knew how too." Emily shrugged.

"That would explain him not cutting out any of the security footage from Derek's home." Rossi nodded, placing his finger on his chin.

"Sir, I've found one property that fits your description." Penelope announced, "It's in the middle of nowhere, practically deserted."

"Where is it, Garcia?" Derek snapped, not wanting her too continue blabbing on about the location rather than telling them where it actually was.

Garcia stared at him for a moment before gulping, "288 Oakstreet, it's the abandoned property right in the middle of the field."

"Let's not waste any more time." Hotch demanded, leading the rest of the team as they all followed behind, putting on their SWAT gear as they got into their SUV's. They were all determined to find Soren and bring her back to safety along with finally capturing the man they had spend years searching for.
