Chapter Thirteen

Liam's POV

I'm standing at my door. Di ko napigilang lumuha.

"Ka lalaking tao umiiyak?" sagot niya habang papalakad siyang lumapit sa akin.

I run and hug him tight.

"We don't have a donor yet." I said.

"Don't worry I have much time. I can wait." he said.

"I'll do everything you say. Since you're here now."

Ginulo niya lang ang buhok ko.

Naglakad siya pabalik sa table para ipaharap sa akin ang screen monitor. It was the EKG result of Lily.

"I'm actually looking at it. So far it's not that serious. As long as a match donor is available everything will be fine. I'll handle the rest. Okay?"

"I'll leave it all to you." sagot ko.

"Pero." tugon niya na ikininakaba ko.

"Bakit?" sagot ko.

"I need the best anesthesiologist."

I smiled. Anesthesiologist is the one who apply the correct proportion amount of anesthesia needed. Any circumstances can lead to a major problem. Like heart or lung ruptures.

"The anesthesiologist you needed is infront of you."

He smiled at me proudly.

"By the way she is asking me a request." dagdag ko.

"Ano yun?" tanong niya.

"She wants to talk to you."

"I'll talk to her." he said and my brother Lyndon smiles at me.

He is walking palabas sa quarter.

"623." tugon ko.

He leave a smirk at tuluyan na lumabas ng quarter.

Lyndon's POV

I'm Lyndon Matthew Howard a 29 year old thoracic surgeon from Cleveland. I talk to our hospital president. He is offering me a month vacation before. I refuse to accept it since I know someday I'll be needing that vacation.
3 days ago when our little brother calls for my help. I think it twice and my feet leads me to the president's office and my mouth talks about accepting it. And now here I am. Walking to room 623 I'll be talking to a patient who needs me.

*Knocked to the door 3 times*

I saw the girl in her bed. With his mother sitting in a chair beside her bed.

"Hi." I greeted.

"Hello po." sabi nung mama ng pasyente.

"Na discuss na po ba sa inyu yung surgery ni Lily?" I ask the mother.

"Opo, naghahanap kami nang donor. Pero wala daw appropriate na doctor dito sa hospital natu para gumawa nung transplant."

I smiled and look at Lily.

"Hi." sabay kaway ko.

She answered a smiled.

"I'm here because Dr. Liam relay a message to me. It's a message from you daw."

"P-po?"

"He said that you want to talk to me daw?" tanong ko ulit.

"I-ikaw p-po b-ba?"

I smiled at her.

"Doktor ka?" tanong sakin ng mama ni Lily.

"Opo. Hindi ko lang suot yung doctor gown ko pero doctor po ako."

Naka black v-neck lang kasi ako atsaka naka slacks.

"If you need anything Lily. You can approach anyone here. And you can lean to me anytime."

"Take a rest. Let's talk anytime. For now have good time with your mom. Una na po ako." atsaka ko kinamayan mama niya.

Lumabas na ako ng room. Papunta ako ng cafeteria para bumili ng coffee para sa akin at kay Liam.

Pero bago pa ako nakaabot dun napahinto ako sa emergency room.
May isang pasyente ang ubo ng ubo.

I looked at him. It's a kinda look serious kahit tignan ko lang. I can't just stand there and pretend. I walk toward the patient and ask the guardian.

"Any symptoms?" I ask to the patients guardian.

While I'm at the back of a doctor. I'm looking at the patient continuously coughing dry.

"Sobrang tigas po ng ubo niya, tapos nangangayat na din po siya. Nahihirapan din po siya huminga. Madalas po siya nahihimatay. Minsan din po sinasabi niyang sumasakit yung buong katawan niya." he asnwered.

I nodded and look at the patient.

"How are you related to the patient?"

"Tatay ko po."

Tinapik ko yung doctor sa harapan ko nakatalikod sa akin and told him testing referrals.

"Ready a Computed tomography, with a chest x-rays and an echocardiogram."

"Refer the patient to those testings. Possible na may Pulmonary Fibrosis si patient. It's better to take those tests to make sure." dagdag ko.

"Since it's a possible PF kindly medicate the patient pirfenidone and nintedanib for the moment." tugon ko naman sa nurse.

Both of them look at me.

"You guys do a good job! Sundin niyo yung advice ko. To prevent big problems."

Atsaka ako tumalikod patungo cafeteria.
I have the coffee with me so diretso ako dun sa quarter kaso wala na dun si Liam.

Brent's POV

Pabalik ako sa station. After ko mag send ng mga referral for CT Scan, Chest x-rays, and echocardiogram. Yun kasi advice ni doctor Reyes. Pero ang nakakapagtataka yung lalaki na bigla nalang sumulpot kanina. Paano kaya siya nagkaroon ng idea about dun?

"Oh kumusta yung bagong patient na sinugod sa ER?" tanong ni Kevin.

"Ayus lang naman. May isang lalaki ang gumawa ng scene."

"Talaga?" tanong ni Jonathan.

"Oo hindi siya doctor pero may diagnosed agad siya dun sa pasyente. Atsaka yung mga testing referrals niya same sa referrals ni dr. Reyes."

"Baka doctor yun sa ibang hospital nga lang." sagot ni Macy.

"Siguro nga din." sagot ko na ikinibit-balikat ko nalang.

Nakaupo kami lahat ng may lalaking lumapit sa station na may dalang kape.
