Sadness. 

That was all I felt.

I woke up to cold sheets and no morning kisses.

Alex was on a trip with his class to an elementary school to get hands-on experience working as a teacher. It was getting near the end of the school year and it was super important to him.

And I support him!! I am super proud of him for getting this far and I think he'll be an excellent teacher. The only problem was that it was in another city!!

He'll be spending three nights at a hotel and I won't be able to be with him for so long!!

I miss him already...

He left when I was asleep because he had to leave super early. Thankfully, I have no classes today. I'll be able to text him all day!

Just the thought of that made me feel a little better.

Reluctantly, I got out of bed and put on Alex's favorite hoodie to steal from me.

I walked to the kitchen and grabbed the cat food.

Isbo came running from her bed in the living room and meowed softly while rubbing her side against my ankle.

"Here you go, girl," I said as I poured her food into her bowl.

I petted her head and she purred before trotting over to the food.

As she ate, I grabbed a bagel and popped it into the toaster.
