"Hello?"I repeated.
"This is Steven Levy; who is this?"A male voice responded.
"My name is Arielle, and I think you might have sent a letter to the wrong person."
"This is Arielle Lancaster, right?"
"Yes, sir,"
"I have the right person."
"My mom's name is Mara."
"Did you see the second paper?"
"No."
I grabbed the letter once again. The papers were sticking together; I pulled them apart. I grabbed the second paper and looked at it. It was emerald green. At the top, there was black lettering. It had my full name.
"Arielle Elise Lancaster"
It didn't have my parents' names.
"Mother: Leah Fletcher
Father: Kolby Bryne"
"Oh, my god."My voice began to shake.
There was silence on the other side.
"I'm sorry; I thought you knew," Steven said.
"No," I responded.
"Come to Mount Haven. I will explain everything I know."
"Okay."
"What are you going to do now?"
"Good luck.."
"Thanks."
The paper dropped out of my hand.
"Who was that?"My mom asked me to enter my room.
I felt my throat close up.
"What is this?"I said, grabbing the paper from the ground.
"What is what?"
"Whose Leah Fletcher?"
I turned to see her face going white as a ghost.
"She's my biological mom, isn't she?"I asked.
Her silence confirmed it.
"Why won't you say anything?"I pleaded.
"I-I," My mom stuttered.
I pushed past her; my mind was racing with questions.
"Where are you going?"My mom asked, chasing after me.
"To get some answers," I responded.
I jumped into my car and began to drive off. Tears were streaming down my face, and I had the envelope in my grasp. I had no idea where I was going, but I knew what I wanted.
