"Today is August 22, I am detective Rey Diaz, and I am with Officer Garret Baker. We are talking to Arielle Lancaster about her time in Mount Haven."
The detective looked down at her notebook.
"What happened July 10?"
I took a deep breath.
"Well, I need to start with July 9. I got a letter; it said I was adopted and inherited everything from my birth mom." I continued. "I was getting a tour of my house from Jonah Levy, and he thought I was scamming his dad. So he attacked me, and I broke his foot."
"Okay, then what?"
"I went to the hospital with him. This is where I met my biological aunt."
"Then you went home to find the house broken into?"
"Yeah," I continued. "I stayed at the Levy's house until the two fires."
"Where were the fires?"
"At the Lancaster's and the Levy's."
"Where were the fires?"
"Then what?"
"My aunt moved Jonah and me into Bryne's guest house. I worked as her assistant for a day and then...I was stolen from my bed."
"Then what?"
Everything came back to me again. I felt tears fall down my face. The detective reached out and touched my hand.
"It's okay...take your time." She consoled.
I took a deep breath. It hurt, but I needed to refresh my memory.
"I was burned by a cigarette and hit with a bat multiple times...I was stabbed in the leg and had it carved into. Then I was drugged."
"By who?"
"Rosie Bryne and her minions."
"Why?"
"Rosie wanted my mom and me dead."
"Do you know why?"
I shook my head no.
"Okay, I need to clear things up. What is your relationship with the Lancaster's?"
"My adoptive parents."
"Okay, what about the Bryne?"
"My biological dad's side of the family."
"Geez, what about the Levys?"
"My boyfriend's family."
"Okay."
The detective then closed the notebook.
"Thank you for your time."
"No problem."
The cops then left my room. Sara came into the room holding something, and she lifted it, and I saw what was in her hands, and it was a syringe. I lost my breath, and I began to panic and cry.
"What's wrong?" Sara asked.
"Not again, not again." I began repeating.
"It's going to help, not hurt."
"What is it going to do?"
"It will help with your pain and put you to sleep."
"Promise me; I'm going to wake up."
"I promise."
Sara helped me back onto my pillow. I drifted asleep.
