When I woke up, I was met by my mom.
"What just happened?" I asked.
"I can't explain it...you have to make a choice. Go to heaven with me or go back." Leah explained.
"I just met you...I have so much to talk to you about."
"I know, sweetie, you're running out of time."
"Would you hate me if you went back?"
"Of course not."
I hugged my mom one last time.
"I love you!" My mom said.
"I love you too!" I responded.
My mom released me from the hug. She then kissed my forehead. Everything went white around me. I woke up in the hospital bed. My body felt extremely heavy, and I was still weak. The hospital room was empty, and I saw a red button hanging over the side of the bed bar. With all the energy I could muster, I grabbed the button. I pressed as I winced in pain. A beeping came from outside the room.
"What the?" A voice came from outside. "Oh my god!"
A group of nurses ran into my room. I attempted to talk, but my throat felt like it was closed. I began to gesture toward my throat.
"One second, sweetie." The nurse said.
The nurse slowly took the tube out of my throat, and I began to cough once it was fully taken out.
"What is your name?" A nurse asked.
"Arielle Lancaster," I responded.
"Do you know what day it is?"
"No."
"It's August 22; you've been in a coma for a month."
"Oh, Shit."
