I woke up on the cold ground. I sat up to see a white tile floor. I then fully stood up. There I was; I had tubes up my arms and a line down my throat. My leg was in a cast and being held up. Oh my god! Jonah was holding my hand. He was slumped up against the wall asleep. He had crutches right next to him, and his leg was in a brace.
"Psst Jonah!" Kolby said.
Jonah continued to sleep.
"Jonah!" Kolby repeated.
I sat on the chair next to him and touched his back, and Jonah sprung up. The color from his face drained.
"What was that?" Jonah shouted.
"What was what?" Kolby asked.
"I had a chill go up my back."
"Weird...Come outside; we need to talk."
Jonah grabbed his crutches and followed Kolby outside. I followed them.
"So," Jonah asked.
"How long have you known that Ari is my daughter?" Kolby asked.
"Since the forest...Well, the night before."
"Why didn't she come and find me?"
"Because of your mom, she had her minions break into Leah's house. Also, the two house fires. Now, this!"
Anya then walked up to them, holding two coffees, and she handed one to Kolby.
"How did you know about Ari?" Kolby asked Anya.
"I just know she has Leah's face and your hair...Also, I'm technically her godmother."
"Your what?" Kolby and Jonah said in unison.
"SHHH! You Idiots! We are in a hospital!" Anya continued. "Yeah, when Leah left to live with her grandparents for nine months to hide her pregnancy. She asked me to be her godmother in a series of letters. She explained her situation, and I agreed. If she weren't eighteen, I would technically be her guardian."
"Excuse me; I would. Why didn't you tell me?" Kolby asked.
"Because of mom...She threatened her life if she told anyone...I wasn't the one who told her about her lineage; someone else did, and now we are here."
"Who told her?"
Jonah began to back up with his crutches, and Kolby grabbed his sweatshirt to stop him.
"What aren't you telling us?" Kolby asked.
"It was my dad...Who told her?" Jonah explained.
"Oh,"
"It was his job."
"I know...Where are your parents?"
"I don't know."
BEEP!BEEP!BEEP! A beeping came from the room I was in. A group of nurses ran into the room. The group attempted to get in, but the nurses stopped them.
"What's going on?" Kolby asked.
I looked down at my hands to see them flashing.
"What the hell?" I asked myself.
"Arielle's heart stopped." The nurse explained.
"Oh my god!" Anya said.
Anya hugs Jonah, and Kolby joins the group hug. I quickly joined the hug. Everything went white once again, and I woke up in a field.
