Anya unlocked the house. I followed her in. Jonah was letting Charlie out. I sat down at the table. Anya headed into the kitchen and got us both water.
"God, kid, you've been through a lot," Anya said.
"Yep," I continued. "Sorry about earlier."
"Oh, no problem; Kolby knows I always forget names."
Blood began to drip onto the table. I reached up to touch the gauze and moved my finger, and blood covered it.
"Anya!" I called out.
She turned around and looked at me.
"Oh shit!" Anya said.
She then began to take the gauze off of my nose.
"Tilt your head back," Anya instructed.
She placed a washcloth over my nose. The blood then stopped.
"Thanks," I said.
"Of course," Anya responded.
Anya then washed the blood from her hands.
"Did anyone leave your house tonight?" I asked
"No, why?" Anya responded.
"I saw four figures fleeing the house tonight."
"Oh shit!"
Anya cleans the table. She looks at me and smiles.
"What?" I asked.
"You look like your mom with your dad's hair."
I smiled back at her. There was silence.
"I just want to figure out who killed my mom," I said.
"I know," Anya responded.
"Then I will tell Kolby everything."
"Oh shit."
"Then we will be a family, finally."
Anya then hugged me and picked me up. Jonah walked into the guest house holding Charlie.
"What is going on?" He asked.
"I was just hugging my niece," Anya explained.
Anya then put me down.
"Why is this the most normal thing to happen today?"
Anya shrugged in response.
"I'll leave you guys alone," Anya explained
"Thanks," I responded.
"Night!"
"Night."
Anya closes the door behind her. Jonah then came up and kissed me.
"Let's go to bed," Jonah said.
I put my forehead against his. We headed to the bedroom. We then proceeded to lie down, and we just held each other and fell asleep.
