I was led to a white room with a single table and one window. The tote was on the ground, and Jonah was in another with Charlie in his hands. A door opened, and a man in a black suit walked into the room, and he was reading a file.
"Wow," He continued. "You created a name for yourself in less than two days."
"Yeah, so what?" I responded.
"That was uncalled for."
"I just want to go home."
"I know; we just need your side of the story."
"What do you want to know?"
"What happened before the fire?"
"I went to take a nap, and the smoke alarm woke me up."
"Then what?"
"I grabbed my stuff and Jonah's dog and got on the roof."
"Did you see anything?"
"Well, there was a black van and shadowy figures outside."
"What kind of car was it?"
"I don't know; it was just a van."
"Okay, what happened to your nose?"
"It was an accident...Jonah thought I was one of the figures."
"Oh."
He wrote things down.
"Anything else you want to tell me?" He asked.
"Nope," I responded.
"We called your dad to come and pick you and Jonah up."
"You did what?"
"We called your dad."
I felt the blood leave my face.
"He's waiting for you outside."
"Okay...Thanks."
I stood up and bent down, and grabbed the tote from the ground. I headed down the hallway to the exit. I was expecting to see Kolby, and I pushed the brown door open to see Anya pacing in the waiting room.
"Okay, thank god," I said.
I ran up to Anya and hugged her.
"What the fuck happened?" Anya asked.
"Someone burned down the Levy's house, and Jonah accidentally broke my nose. He thought I set the fire." I explained.
"Jesus."
"Have you seen Jonah?"
"No."
Suddenly the sound of the door opening behind us. Anya then grabbed my shoulder and turned around to face Jonah. He let Charlie go, and he ran up to Anya. I ran up to Jonah and jumped into his arms, and Jonah held me and began to walk toward Anya.
"I've got you," Jonah whispered in my ear.
I buried my face into his shoulder.
"We need to talk, but you guys need some sleep," Anya explained.
"Where?" Jonah asked.
"We have a guest house."
"Of course you do."
"You guys are family."
"Okay, let's go."
I jumped down and kissed Jonah.
"Are you okay?" Jonah asked.
"Yeah, are you?" I responded.
"We are safe; Charlie is safe. I just wish my parents would contact me."
"I know; we will figure this out. I promise."
I kissed him again. Jonah grabbed my hand and followed Anya out of the police station.
