From afar Hisoka had watched them like a lion waiting for the right moment to attack. Beside him was Illumi and the king's assistant, Theta.

They had been spying on the group for hours, waiting for the supposedly royal guard to leave (y/n)'s side. The dark haired guard was always around, following her like an obsessed pup and perhaps he was because it felt like he'd truly never leave her side...until he did.

Feitan came out of their tent and went to talk to the doctor, Leorio. After a few minutes they huddle up with the rest and went off into the forest. Theta figured they were running low on food and went hunting. This was their best chance at getting the princess and taking her back to her king.

"There she is, the beauty and the beast." Hisoka proudly towered over her. "I told you it'd be easy to find her."

"That's her?" Theta inspected her carefully. Such a beautiful girl but so frightening at the same time. Except what does Tserriednich want from her? Is she strong or is she too smart to try to fool? Perhaps it was her beauty...no there was something more. Theta wanted to know but she knew her king would never tell. "She sleeps so peacefully. Not a worry in her head, I wonder what you dream of, (y/n). I'd very much like to inspect her."

By her side Illumi eyed her. He let out an impatient sigh. She didn't notice but Hisoka did.

"Apparently the stress of not turning into a monster causes her to go into a deep sleep."

"Will she even wake up?" Theta snapped in her ear but (y/n) didn't budge.

"I heard the smell of blood will." He lifted her up from her bed and carried her out of her tent. "It should be a smooth ride back home."

"Then I'm guessing you'll be back at the palace by midnight?"

"Most likely."

"Great. Kill anyone who gets in the way, we can't let her escape again." She climbed back onto her horse. "Lord Tserriednich has high expectations so make sure to get back to the castle as fast as-"

"Hold it. I hope you remember our end of the deal." Illumi pointed a dagger towards her. "Find my brother or I'll kill the girl. Lord Tserriednich has high expectations for you, not us."

Theta frowned, irritated that she was getting threatened but she did promise Illumi to find his missing brother.

"By the time you get to the palace I'll have Killua standing in front of you, along with his friend." She assured him and then whipped her horse to get a head start on their way back home.

Illumi watched her disappear into the forest, he sighed loudly and then scowled at Hisoka.

"She's lying."

"I know but killing her will only make things worse. Then you might never see your brother again. We'll keep playing their little game for now." He shrugged and then turned to the army of men. "We'll leave in groups of two. We'll go first and the rest will follow behind from afar that way if they get attacked we'll get alerted." Hisoka suggested with a smile.

"Fine. Let's go, I'm starving."

Hisoka set her down in the carriage. The men beside her kept watch and as he got onto his horse he couldn't help but wonder why her guard was so intent with staying by her side.

At first he figured that he took an oath to protect her at all times including life or death situations. This was expected as every guard had taken an oath the moment they began their training but something was different.

Portor wasn't just a guard. Hisoka knew very well where he was from and the type of royal blood he had. If he wanted to, he too could turn into a monstrous devil like the princess but he hadn't. Worry began to settle in his stomach and every once in a while Hisoka would glance back expecting to see the guard following them.
