(Y/n) closed her eyes tightly as she tried to get some rest before the party but her loud thoughts kept her from sleeping. She sighed, opening her eyes to stare at the ceiling above her. She could hear Cammy flipping the pages of her book, keeping herself busy while (y/n) was supposed to be sleeping. She needed to have enough energy to last the entire night but the thought of Feitan kept her awake.

"Is there a reason why you're having trouble sleeping?" Cammy asked, annoyed that she wasn't getting any rest. Knowing how she was when she was tired she knew her patience would be thin the entire time at the party. The last thing she wanted (y/n) to do was embarrass herself in front of everyone.

"I've been having nightmares." She lied. Well kind of. She just didn't want to say anything about him knowing that Cammy would scold her for getting distracted. She was supposed to be focusing on her coronation and her wedding but none of those even bothered to pass through her brain.

"Nightmares? How many?" She asked as she grew worried, grabbing her hands to inspect her cold blue fingers.

"Ever since I first started eating people."

"You should tell your mother."

"She's not going to listen, she wants this to happen. If I can't even handle a small breeze of wind what makes you think I'll survive the last nightmare?" She sat up from her bed and stared down at her hands. The blue, almost purple tips of her fingers looked completely dead. She was sure if she cut her fingers off she wouldn't even feel the pain. She felt a sudden breeze, causing her to wrap herself with more covers. Cammy finally noticed her, she sighed and closed her book.

"Are you cold?"

"Very." She mumbled.

"I'll bring you a bowl of hot water for your fingers."

"That doesn't work anymore, I've tried." She let out a shaky sigh, almost at the edge of breaking down into tears. She didn't want to die, not when she hadn't seen the blue sky or felt the soft green grass underneath her feet. She hadn't felt a hot summer breeze nor had she seen the ocean yet. The only world she's ever seen is in the books but never in person.

Warm water was what always helped the monsters return back to their human forms. Let your skin touch warm water and the blue skin disappeared, though it only worked for a while in the beginning of the curse. It was a way to keep children from having early nightmares after they had their first feast but now that she had been forced to eat more the blue skin was spreading, the poison would soon start to rot her insides if she didn't get help from the witch. That is, if she was still alive.

(Y/n) heard her servant stand up, opening the door to go get a bowl of warm water even though it was useless. She threw the covers away from her, jumping out of her bed and grabbing Cammy's arm before she left.

"Tell Feitan he can go rest now."

Cammy was caught by surprise, she never backed down from her punishments yet this time she was letting Feitan go. Only a couple of hours had passed by, usually she would let her guards stand for days until they passed out from dehydration. Cammy realized Feitan was the one who was keeping (y/n) from sleeping.

She smiled, "Of course, my lady." She walked over to the ballroom, Feitan no where to be seen. Instead he was sitting by her throne, his back leaned against it. She sighed as she walked over to him.

"If (y/n) saw you, she would've been yelling at you for sitting down during your punishment."

Feitan didn't answer, he was completely worn out from everything that happened today. He didn't think being a guard was this difficult, he didn't have enough energy to follow a stupid princess around. He wondered how his father managed to do it, he always said the princess was very kind when she was younger but she was the complete opposite of it.
