"Finally! What took you so long?"

"I was busy."

"Doing what?"

(Y/n) looked up at Eric who had eye bags underneath his eyes, his uniform wasn't even buttoned up correctly. She figured that he hadn't had a goodnight sleep in days considering how his mother was. She shook her head, snapping out of her thoughts as she grabbed him by his tie and pulled him closer to fix his uniform.

"I was thinking about getting my guard a better sword."

"He has one already." His scrunched up eyebrows and the disgusted look made her nervous, wondering if he had such hatred for her guard.

"It's chipped."

He sighed loudly, giving her an irritated look as he ran both hands through his hair. (Y/n) was slightly shocked, she had never seen him look so impatient and frustrated. She frowned, scowling at him.

"Will you stop bugging me if I give him a sword?" He pushed her away from him, brushing his uniform to make sure no wrinkles formed.

What's his problem? She clicked her tongue, deciding that she wasn't going to waste her time with men that treated her like shit. She nearly laughed at how he was treating her, obviously he didn't understand how much power she held. She could easily make his life even more miserable if she wanted to, but she wasn't like them. She swore she wasn't a monster like her mother and was going to be the one to put an end to this but not yet. Not until she grew out of her shell and finally had the anger and adrenaline to take her mother down.

"Fine I'll get him one myself." She said, walking off without him.

"Wait! I'm sorry I just haven't been sleeping well." Eric's anger vanished into thin air once he realized what he had done. He quickly ran after her, grabbing her hand and pulling her back to keep her from leaving.

"Why did you request to see me?"

He cleared his throat, standing up and fixing his posture as he brought a proud smile to his lips. "I caught two rats!"

"Rats?" She repeated his words, confused of what he meant by.

"Doctors to be more specific, the rebels are becoming more sneakier."

Rebels? The first thought that came to her mind was her guard but Eric didn't have to know about that. She wasn't even sure if she still wanted to help the rebellion but after the nightmare she had last night she didn't think she had much of a choice. Either way, she didn't want to continue living as a monster. She truly did want to avenge her sisters but not when their spirits continued to haunt her in her dreams.

"What are you going to do to them?"

"The obvious thing to do is hang them but I guess I can have fun with them for a while."

She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. It always made her angry how they played with their food before eating them. Eric would certainly have his fun ripping their limbs one by one. It was a horrible way to execute them but she figured it was because the poor doctors were treating his mother. It offended him and he needed a way to release his anger. Though she didn't understand why he requested to see her, it made her slightly angry that he had to ruin the intense moment her and Feitan had a few minutes ago.

She still felt like a mess, embarrassed that a slight touch from him would make her want to get on her knees for him. Even if it was completely inappropriate for him to even get close to her, she had to say he did have the guts to even speak to her considering how many servants feared her.

"What's this got to do with me?"

He groaned and grabbed her arm, pulling her closer to him. "I'm saying be careful, (y/n)."
His voice changed for a moment, almost as if he was going to explode with bottled up anger again but this time he controlled it. "These rebels are on the move again, stay with that guard and tell him to kill anyone that gets close to you."

(Y/n) chuckled as she slipped out of his grip and backed away. "I can defend myself."

Eric sighed, knowing that she would be stubborn. He pulled out his sword, handing it over to her. "Be serious for once and get prepared because I know for sure a war is coming."

(Y/n) frowned, she scoffed and grabbed the sword. She left him alone, deciding that she wouldn't continue their conversation.

"It was my fault! I didn't mean to rush out of the room. I panicked!"

"Oi, be quiet for a moment. It's fine anyway." Leorio assured his assistant as he put all his focus on trying to unlock the cell door with a hair pin.

The assistant only laid back down onto the cold floor, he closed his eyes and tried to calm himself down. If only he hadn't panicked and rushed out of the room then they both would've made it back to the rebellions base. Instead, Eric's guards managed to catch them and throw them in the cells. In a couple of hours they would be shot in the head and would get cooked just like the rest of their people.

"What bad luck we have," Leorio mumbled to himself. "We must be the two most unluckiest men in the world for getting caught a few hours before a royal party starts."

"A-Are you sure? We don't even know if they're going to do a feast for the engagement party besides they only do it during more important events."

"The wedding and her coronation might be important but these monsters enjoy eating, I'm positive they'll have a feast for the party tonight."

His assistant sighed, continuing to blame himself for the situation they got themselves into. He was sure that after this Leorio wouldn't forgive him. Suddenly he heard a small pop, followed by Leorio quietly cursing to himself. He threw the hair pin across the hallway, watching it fall away from them. Leorio leaned against the wall, sliding down to the ground.

"It broke?"

"Yeah." He sighed, desperate at this point.
"Geez, I was supposed to go see Kurapika tomorrow."

"I'm sorry, Leorio. I never meant to get us into this situation."

"It's fine, we'll be fine. The party is at Princess (y/n)'s palace, Eric will completely forget about us for a while. We have enough time to think of a way to get out of here." He sighed, wanting to release angry tears at the thought of Kurapika anxiously waiting for him at his porch only to later find out that Leorio was eaten at a feast. Just when things were going right for him something had to come and get in the way of their love.

The assistant sat up, he looked around the dirty cell they were in. His body nervously shook from how cold it was, he was certain that the temperature would lower down. The kingdoms would once again freeze, making it impossible for anyone to leave their home. Those who stayed outside would certainly die from hypothermia. "The bell rings at midnight, right?" He asked, standing up from the ground. He looked up at the small opening where the moonlight passed through. It was an open window with rusty bars that kept them from escaping.

Leorio raised an eyebrow, confused from where the conversation was going. "Yeah but what's that have to do with the situation we're in?"

"We only have six hours to leave," his assistant reminded him, pulling the rusty bars in hope they would loosen.

"If we stay here we won't die by the Prince's hands, we'll die from the cold."

Leorio flinched, he gasped realizing as well. He stood up helping the assistant pull the rusty loose bars.

"There's no way I'm dying here! Not when Kurapika is waiting for me!"
