Chapter 48

Perrie's POV:

"It's too early, ma!" I exclaimed for the third time.

My mother looked baffled, "Nonsense. There is no such thing as too early. Johnny and Caitlin saw her again, didn't they? I think it's fair that she comes over for a weekend." She also repeated herself.

"Yeah, and that was already awkward enough and it was just one dinner hosted by her brother, not by herself. I can't force her to come!" I said trying to lower my voice since I'm certain no one in the coffee shop would particularly enjoy a higher volume.

She sighed and set down her coffee after taking a sip, "I understand where you are coming from, but petal I assure this won't hurt, if anything it'll accelerate the process of yous two getting back together."

I looked down and said, "That's exactly it, I don't want to accelerate it. I'm impatient and we both know that, but I fear that acceleration will once again be the reason we both get hurt in the end. The first time we got together she wasn't mentally ready for a relationship and we both got hurt, the second time our rush to come out was used against us and caused the biggest heartbreak of my life, losing her and them at the same time. I'm determined to let things roll at a natural pace, because all my impatience ever brought was damage." I said honestly and my mother's eyes softened and her lips dropped to an almost pout.

"Oh petal..." She trailed off sadly.

"Very well then. I guess you get your impatience from me then, don't you?" She said chuckling slightly.

I smiled back thinly and after 20 minutes we both bid farewell and I made my way home.

Right now stuff was great. During Noah's wedding when we sung it all kind of fell into place, so our bond as a group is very well healing. Beth and I are no longer awkward with each other, and she knows nothing of my fears concerning the pace of our rebonding, but I know Beth better than anyone, and I'm certain she shares the same thoughts since she is also in no rush to get back together.

Concerning our career we really got the best of the best, so our PR team arranged a lot of clues for everyone to figure stuff out. It's not too scandalous, but it will get attention on us.

It's not released yet, since it's gonna be a surprise, but we will have a performance at the MTV EMA's in the US. The special thing about it is, I will start singing my solo song, then I will start adding verses from Leigh's song, then Jade's and then Jesy's. Then slowly it will morph into our song Woman Like Me where all the other girls will come out.

We already worked out when to start which song and it all goes over very smoothly. I can't wait for people to officially know that we are a band again.

When I arrived home all the lights were turned off so I assumed Beth was either out or sleeping, but no she was simply on the couch talking to someone on the phone.

"Yup, everything is going fine I guess." She said.

I don't even know why but somehow I felt like I was intruding.

"Yeah Noah is having fun with Josie. They said that the Maldives are great." She said and then there was a short pause, "Oh yeah Sam is doing good too."

Well if that person is asking about Noah and Sam than it can't be either of them. It won't be anyone of the girls since we just saw them yesterday.

Who is she talking to?

I decided what I was kind of violating her privacy since I should've made myself known somehow I guess, so I simply turned on the light and she let her head fall back to see me and then said, "Yeah alright I'll talk to you later."

She hung up and I smiled taking off my jacket, "Hey."

"Hey." She answered standing up and getting herself water.

I followed and got one for myself as well as she asked, "So... how was your day?"

I took a sip and then answered, "Uh it was good. And yours?"

She nodded, "Same."

Usually this wouldn't be weird but now I really want to know who she talked to.

I finished drinking and forced a smile, "So uh... Good night."

She looked confused and then nodded, "Uh yeah... good night."

Beth's POV:

I looked after Perrie a little confused on why she behaved so weirdly.

There wasn't really anything coming to my mind so I just brushed it off and turned back to my phone.

There was a new text

♡: Lemme guess, she came home?

I chuckled and texted back.

Me: You know me so well.

♡: Well obviously. You are so whipped.

I shook my head and sighed.

Me: Yeah still working on that.

♡: That is a long work in progress. Anyway babes, I'll talk to you soon. Might even come over.

Me: Oh you want me to have a heart attack while explaining everything?

♡: Are you saying you don't want me to come over :(

I smiled.

Me: Of course I do.

♡: Well if we are being really honest you don't owe anyone an explanation or do you?"

Me: No I don't necessarily but it feels weird to not explain.

♡: Oh my poor babe. Always so selfless.

Me: We both know I'm not really.

♡: Jesus, we really slipping into these thoughts again? I'll come over right now and cause a heart attack if you don't stop.

I chuckled slightly.

Me: Alright alright I'm sorry. I don't suck I'm great.

♡: That's the spirit. Though it does concern me that you don't want me to come over this badly.

Me: Shut up you know I love you.

♡: Ha! Girlie is gonna be so jealous.

I rolled my eyes.

Me: Good night.

♡: Good night babes.

I sighed putting my phone down. I will need to tell them soon.
