Plot: Grillby falls asleep, only to wake up with Sans next to him

Grillby trudged his way inside the house after a long day at work, however Sans was nowhere in sight. Normally he would find his lazy skeleton napping or reading on the couch, or even occasionally in the kitchen sitting on top of the fridge after an anxiety trip, though there was no skeleton in sight.

He took his phone out of his pocket and walked into the bedroom, looking for new messages or missed calls from Sans as he got himself into comfier clothes, yet there wasn't a single notification on his phone.

Worried, Grillby attempted to call Sans, breathing a sigh of relief when he answered.

"Hey Grillbz, what's up?" Sans asked, seeming slightly distracted.

"I was just wondering where you ran off to. You didn't come by for lunch today so I assumed you were at home and asleep, but you weren't here when I got home," Grillby said.

"Is it that late already? Damn. I'm sorry babe, I just got caught up with something."

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah! I'll tell ya when I get home. Love ya!"

"Love you too."

And with that, the two hung up and Grillby was left in the silence of their house.

Tiredly, he layed in bed and decided to play a quick game or two of Solitaire while he waited for Sans, though that plan was quickly thwarted when he felt his eyes closing as soon as his head hit the pillow.

Sans trudged his way into the house, noticing that all the lights were off and that it was quiet. Normally if Grillby was awake and moving about the house, some type of Jazz music would be heard from a certain room.

Sans made his way up to the bedroom, smiling when he saw Grillby already passed out. He decided to throw his backpack to the side and change into his normal pajamas, crawling into bed next to his lover.

A small glow of light emitted from Grillby, bringing Sans to a state of calm as he covered himself with the blanket. He kissed Grillby's forehead and turned on his side, beginning to fall asleep when he felt two arms wrap around his torso. One of the moments he found absolutely adorable, watching a small smile form on Grillby's face as he unknowingly cuddled Sans.

The skeleton smiled, placing his hands on top of his lover's as he slowly drifted off into dreamland.

Grillby yawned as his eyes slowly opened, light slightly peaking through the curtains. Just as he was about to get up and stretch, he felt a small weight against his side. He looked down slightly and smiled.

Sans had his head against Grillby's chest as he clung against Grillby's side, seeming to be in his usual deep slumber.

Grillby rubbed the top of the skeletons skull before pulling the blanket up further to cover him up more. He figured Sans needed the extra sleep this morning, as he has been getting up early with Grillby instead of sleeping in like he used to, and also combined with the fact that he was out late last night doing who knows what.

It was moments like this that Grillby adored, just waking up with Sans at his side, the two of them just content in each others embrace.

Grillby gently kissed the top of Sans' skull, causing the skeleton to wake up slightly.

"Good morning, sleeping beauty," Grillby teased with a small chuckle.

"Mornin' hot stuff," Sans tiredly replied, a yawn following as he stretched, "sorry I was out so late last night."

"Its alright, though what were you up to? Surely not visiting Papyrus because I would have at least gotten a hello from him and Mettaton."

Sans chuckled, "yeah, no I wasn't at Pap's. I actually was talking to Asgore and I might have been reinstated as one of his royal scientists. I was just going through some stuff."

Grillby smiled and hugged Sans, "I'm so proud of you. I know how much you missed being a scientist. Though next time, don't miss lunch with me."

Sans chuckled and kissed Grillby's lips, "I wont. Now let's get some more sleep, we don't have to be up for another hour anyway."

Grillby nodded as the two of them settled back into bed, embracing each other once more.
