"Boys, if you want to come with me to the lab I do need you to hurry up. I don't want to be late," Gaster called from downstairs, hearing shuffling from upstairs before Sans rushes down the stairs with Papyrus on his back.
Having a mini heart attack, Gaster quickly used magic to pick his sons up and bring them safely down the stairs.
"Sans you need to be careful! We dont want a repeat of your broken ulna, do we?You just got ungrounded. Besides, you don't want to accidentally hurt Papyrus, do you?"
Sans quickly shook his head, hugging Papyrus to make sure he was okay before allowing Gaster to take both their hands.
The three trudged through the snow on their way to meet with River, who usually brings Gaster to Hotland and back.
Papyrus smiled and waved when he saw River, causing the monster to wave back at the small skeleton.
"Tra la la~ good morning, Dr. Gaster," River greeted when they reached speaking range.
"Good morning to you as well, River. I assume you have met my sons, Sans and Papyrus," Gaster replied, gesturing to his two boys.
"Certainly, they come here occasionally when they want a quick trip to Waterfall. Hello boys, where are we headed today?" River asked the two, causing Sans to motion for Papyrus to tell him.
"Daddy's lab!" Papyrus said, causing the rest of them to chuckle.
"He means Hotland, Mr. River," Sans clarified as the three of them got into the boat.
As they floated down the stream, Papyrus made it his mission to carry a conversation with River the entire time, while Sans just sat next to his father and was attempting to not fall asleep.
The ride didn't take long, and before they knew it, they were in Hotland. The three of them thanked and said goodbye to River before making their way to the lab.
Sans and Papyrus looked around, amazed by the various tools and products of previous experiments lying around.
Gaster introduced his sons to a few of his colleague's on their way to his lab, but then they were alone once more when they reached the lab.
Papyrus sat on the floor underneath Gaster's desk after Gaster gave him a science themed coloring book and some colored pencils. Sans, however, was right by Gaster's side the entire time in an attempt to assist him with his experiments.
"Hey dad, what's this?" Sans asked, referring to a sketch laying in an abandoned corner of the desk.
Gaster looked at the picture for a moment before turning back to the task at hand. "I call it a Gaster Blaster, it was a new attack I was attempting to make for skeletons to learn."
"Why'd you stop?"
"More important matters needed tending to, I have no time to attempt to make an attack."
Sans smiled and picked up the paper, studying its contents before getting the idea to try and conjure it. He hopped off the desk and crawled underneath to sit next to Papyrus, who looked up from his color page.
No words were said between the two, as Sans was trying to focus on the attack. He had been learning magic for about two years now, and he really wanted to show his dad that he could do more advanced magic.
