Sans sighed as he put in the combination for his locker. His just narrowly escaped the schools worst bully and was now living in constant fear. He just felt like he was being watched, ready to be pounced on by some transphobic monster that just hated his existence. It was not a fun time to say the least.
"I really think you should tell your dad about this, the school won't do anything about it," Grillby said. Grillby has been Sans's best friend since they were kids, and nothing has changed between then and high school. Some days, Grillby seemed like the only one aside from Papyrus who actually accepted him, though it took a lot more to convince Papyrus to not tell Gaster. And now here Grillby was, attempting to convince Sans to tell the one person his is the most scared to tell.
Sans barely new anything about Gaster's views on the LGBTQ+ community, and coming out as Trans could either result in Sans getting disowned or actually giving his old man an early death. It was a scary thought on how that conversation would start and play out.
Sans put his books in his backpack, getting ready to go home for the day while also trying to avoid Grillby's statement.
"Don't ignore me, Sans. This is starting to get out of hand. I'm worried that they'll actually dust you next time considering how hard you got shoved into your locker last time," Grillby said worriedly. Nobody other that Sans's family and Grillby knew about how low Sans's HP was, and he wasn't planning on letting that information get out as easily as him being transgender did.
"What do you want me to do, Grillbz? It will crush me if Dad doesn't accept me. And I'll never see Papyrus again if he kicks me out," Sans said, coming off a little more harshly than intended.
"I've told you before that if that happens you have a place with me and my family," Grillby reassured the skeleton, like he has many times when the topic was brought up.
Sans sighed, slinging his backpack over his shoulder, "I'll think about it." And with that, they parted ways. Though, unfortunately, Sans didn't manage to escape without another harsh shove from a group of bullies that resulted in a sharp pain crawling through his left shoulder. They just laughed at him, calling him a quick slur and misgendering him on purpose before walking away.
It couldn't be helped, sometimes people are just like that. But Sans wasn't the type to get too mad at them for it. Sure, being misgendered hurt, hurt a lot more than he'd like to admit, but at the end of the day there was nothing he could do. It was no use dwelling on it. It's not like it was the end of the world that someone used the wrong pronouns, and despite the fact how much it hurt, he felt sorry for them in the end. Sorry that they had nothing better to do with their lives but harass him and be transphobic for no reason.
Carefully, Sans pushed himself off of the ground and gripped his shoulder. Nothing was broken or out of place, but it definitely hurt. It was either cracked or bruised, but he didn't have time to worry about it. He had to pick up Papyrus.
He walked a little ways to the middle school where he saw Papyrus standing outside with his friend Happstablook. Once the young skeleton noticed his big brother, he ran over.
"Hey Pap, ready to go?" Sans asked, earning a nod from Papyrus.
"Well, actually, could you tell Dad that I'm spending the night with Happstablook? He told me I could yesterday, but I think he might have forgotten," Papyrus said.
