A/N: It is officially spooky season, my favorite time of year. Because of this, expect multiple Halloween and Fall themed chapters. Of course I will still write requests, but any of the non-requested chapters will be mostly Halloween related
Extra Info: Happstablook is Mettaton and in this, ghosts can eat regular food if they want, they aren't restricted to just ghost food
Plot: Dadster takes his sons trick or treating for the first time on the surface

It hasn't been long since the monsters moved to the surface, but it was just in time for them to begin to experience some holidays, one of those being Halloween. It took a while for Sans and Papyrus to figure out what they wanted to dress up as, but with some inspiration from on of their father's books they eventually found it. It would certainly be perfect for them.
Gaster smiled to himself as he finished with the final touches of Papyrus's costume, watching as his son bolted to the mirror as soon as he was done.
"It looks amazing, Dad!" He exclaimed as Gaster walked up behind him and placed the top hat on his head.
"Don't tell your brother, but I think the facepaint you picked is better than his," Papyrus giggled.
"I heard that," Sans said, not angry in the slightest. He had on almost identical face paint as his younger brother, just in different shades of blue and black with a little bit of orange somewhere in there as well. Papyrus had different shades of orange and black with a little bit of blue to go with it.
"Well, aren't you two some of the most well dressed sugar skeletons I've ever seen," Gaster said, placing the top hat with an orange wrap on it on top of his head for the finishing touch.
Both boys had on tuxedo's with similar color pallets as their face paint. Papyrus had insisted that they match costumes for their first Halloween. Gaster adjusted their bow ties and top hats before handing them their candy bags.
"Now then, shall we be on our way? I'm sure we'll see your friends tonight if we hurry." Papyrus got excited, grabbing his fathers and brothers hands and pulling them out the door. Gaster had to tell Papyrus multiple times to slow down.
They walked hand in hand together down the street, stopping at several houses to gain the candy they so desired by saying the magic words trick or treat. Never in their lives had the boys seen so much candy, and it was all theirs, though they knew Gaster would most likely limit their consumption of the sweet treats.
About half way through their trip, Gasters prediction came true, they ran into the boys friends.
Papyrus's eyes lit up as he let go of his father hand and rushed over to his friends, Sans followed suit.
"Happstablook, Napstablook!" He said, causing the two ghosts to turn around and smile at him.
"Papyrus!" Happstablook said as he rushed over to him, Napstablook followed timidly. "I was worried that I wouldn't see you."
"The Great Papyrus would never miss out on a chance to see his best friends!"
As they rambled on about how great their costumes were and how much candy they've recieved so far, Sans casually walksover to his friends, immediately being showered in compliments for his costume while he complimented their's.
Undyne was a pirate, Alphys was some kind of anime cat girl, Grillby was his favorite Pokémon, Charmander, and Temmie was, well, Temmie.
"Guess we all got creative," Sans says as he readjustes his candy bag on his arm.
"How much you guys got?" Undyne asks, causing everyone to open their bags and hold them out for everyone to see. They each had a decent amount, though Alphys and Undyne seemed to have a lot more than the rest of them.
"How on Earth did you guys get so much?" Grillby asks curiously.
"Alphys was too shy to say trick or treat, so I yelled at all the adults when they didnt want to give her a lot and they gave us a bunch of candy just to leave!" Undyne said, obviously very proud of herself. Alphys blushed a bit as Undyne wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
Soon enough, the children turned around when Gaster finally walked over. Sans and Papyrus looked at their father with hopeful expressions.
"Can we walk with out friends, Dad?" Sans asked, followed by a please from Papyrus. Gaster though for a moment before giving a response.
"Of course, but I'll still be walking behind you as you do so," Gaster said. The children agreed to the terms and their adventure for candy continued.
The night was lively, human and monster children alike just spending some time with family and friends in search of the treats that their parents didn't have to pay for. It was a win-win for everyone.
Papyrus walked next to Happstablook, who made sure that Napstablook was okay as they walked. Napstablook was too shy to say the words he needed to, luckily he had his cousin and friend to help him acquire the candy.
Undyne and Alphys kept the same strategy, yelling at the adults that refused to give Alphys candy, though that was rare.
Sans stuck close to Grillby. The two of themwalked further behind the group, basically next to Gaster. The older skeleton didn't bother them, just listening as they talked while also keeping an eye on everyone else. They didn't talk about much, it was mostly about Grillby's new cooking class he was taking at school.
Unfortunately nights like this couldn't last forever. As it began to get late and everyone gradually dispersed, so did they.
The friends said goodbye to each other as they left to find their parents, leaving Sans and Papyrus next to their father once more
"Ready to go home, boys?" Gaster asked, watching as Papyrus yawned and almost rubbed his eyes, but stopped when he remembered the makeup on his face. Gaster chuckled, "I suppose that answers my question. How about we get you two cleaned up and to bed?" They boys nodded and Gaster took their hands once more.

Gaster sighed as he picked Papyrus up out of his chair. Both boys insisted on having a quick meal before bed and Papyrus ended up falling asleep halfway through.
Both boys were clean and in pajamas already, so all he needed to do was take Papyrus straight to bed. He smiled a little as he felt Papyrus cling to him while lying his head on Gaster's shoulder. That's when he noticed how close Sans was to falling asleep as well, so he used his magic to pick Sans up as well and gebtly place him in his other arm.
The walk to their rooms were short, he placed them in bed rather quickly, and that's when he remembered the most crucial thing of the night, the candy bags.
He walked down the stairs and grabbed them off of the kitchen counter before heading back to their rooms and placing the bags on each of their desks. He had to admit, this was a fun night.
He took one last look at his sleeping children before turning off the lights and ending this Halloween night.
